AT&T finally offering iPhone 3G for purchase online
Just in time for the holiday season, AT&T is finally bending a bit and allowing new customers to purchase the iPhone 3G online. Though the user has to wait for the phone to arrive in the mail, the process is a shift from the initial launch where users were required to wait in line at Apple or AT&T. The device will ship pre-activated, and will work once the customer accepts the carrier's Terms & Conditions and activates it via iTunes. Existing users don't seem to get the same courtesy, however - the website directs them to visit an AT&T store.
At the moment, Apple is not offering the popular phone online quite yet, but for those that hate waiting in the long holiday lines, this is the perfect solution.
