AT&T customers sent over 178 million text messages for American Idol vote
Fans can't get enough of Fox's hit reality television show American Idol. Viewers either call up or text message to cast their vote for their favorite performer. Over 178 million text messages were sent through AT&T's network by voters. That number is actually double more than last year when 78 million messages were sent. You never know what next year's show might tally up.

its a lot of texts messages but then again some should not count considering some ATT employees went to parties in Kris Allens home town and brought cells with them having people send messages to idol and most were apparently block texts (up to 10 at a time) and the rules state that they have to be suscribed to ATT to send the messages.
