Don't know what 'people' you're talking about, I don't want shared data with anyone; I want both of my Verizon lines with Unlimited Data to remain independent. The only people that this benefits, seemingly based on tier plans, are people with 10 kids or more.

Verizon has the same exact GB amounts as what I see on this list. Actually seems like less variety. I don't see a 2GB, 8GB or 12GB option there.

They do...for the most part. Verizon has 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10GB. AT&T dont have 2 and 8GB.

The 1GB, 6GB plans are $5 more on AT&T. The 10GB plan is $10 more on AT&T. Thats why I mentioned it was more in some cases.

I do like that AT&T offers bigger GB amounts tho. I heard Verizon does too, but its not advertized alot. This is what someone came up with cuz Verizon does advertize an extra 2GB for $10:

"Its just $10 for every extra 2GB, no limit. So if $100 for 10GB is not enough, Pay another $20,$50, or $100 and get 14,20 or even 30GB."

If that is true.....20GB is $40 cheaper on Verizon.

I dont know if that extra 2GB is once a month you have to add it or does it stick until you remove it.. The difference I see so far is Verizon is $15 for each GB as overage and they give you the option to just add 2GB extra for $10....and you can add extra 2GB amounts. I just see $15 extra per GB AT&T. I have been studying these 2 carriers like mad as AT&T might have better service in my area.

AT&T might be cheaper in some cases...depending on how many lines you have and how much data you want.

Bottom line....pretty soon we all might have to either pay extra for what we want or go to small carriers.

AT&T seems to get cheaper with higher bandwidth and more than 3 phones.

Verizon seems to sell the bandwidth slightly cheaper than AT&T, but keeps the device fees flat. AT&T charges a little more for data in some cases, but the device fee drops with the higher data plans. For smartphones, anyway.

In most cases, the cost ends up being about the same with Verizon, with a few bucks different between the two here and there. AT&T seems to make more sense if you have a larger family though.

Verizon has a better overage price if you happen to run over. Rollover would be nice too.

Honestly! Im thinking about switching to one of their pre-paid plans. I would be saving more than half of what i pay now. It's crazy.

Well, that's a good thing on your case but mostly the single individuals like me are getting killed by these plans. Currently i pay $90 per month before taxes and insurance, with the new plan i would have to pay $110.

In some cases you can, in some you can't. Depends on what your needs are.

It can work out great for single folks like me. I can get a better plan for less money. There are cases where it doesn't work for others though. So at least AT&T isn't forcing people onto their shared plans like Verizon is. If it works for you, you can keep what you have. Might even be able to try the others and switch back.

While I'm not thrilled with the pricing and bandwidth limits, I think AT&T is taking the better approach by making them optional rather than Verizon's mandatory approach.

On Verizon its optional for current customers. If one is already on tiered data and a current customer, you dont have to take the shared data plans.

Now that I see for me with 3 lines to go to AT&T and save about $10 a month....its not even worth it.

And it looks like 20GB is cheaper on Verizon if one can keep adding 2GB til they get to 20GB. This is a nice lil breakdown someone did at another site:

VZW 1 Phone 1 GB: $90 ($40+$50); 2 Phones: $130; 3 Phones $170
AT&T 1 Phone 1 GB: $85 ($45+$40); 2 Phones: $130; 3 Phones $175

VZW 1 Phone 4 GB: $110 ($40+$70); 2 Phones: $150; 3 Phones $190
AT&T 1 Phone 4 GB: $110 ($40+$70); 2 Phones: $150; 3 Phones $190

VZW 1 Phone 6 GB: $120 ($40+$80); 2 Phones: $160; 3 Phones $200
AT&T 1 Phone 6 GB: $125 ($35+$90); 2 Phones: $160; 3 Phones $195

VZW 1 Phone 10 GB: $140 ($40+$100); 2 Phones: $180; 3 Phones $220
AT&T 1 Phone 10 GB: $150 ($30+$120); 2 Phones: $180; 3 Phones $210

I came up with this if my calculation are right:

20GB

ATT
230 1 phone
260 2 phones
290 3 phones

Verizon
190 1 phone
230 2 phones
270 3 phones

Thats only if one can stack 2GB to the 10GB plan til they get to 20GB on Verizon.

Yea...I agree. The lesser of 1 evils...? lol.

Unless Verizon changed something recently...if you are already a customer....you dont have to go to the shared plans.

I just tried to use an upgrade I have right now....I have the option to keep existing plan...and the old tiered plans are available.

Even if I was to do it with my unlimited line...the old plans are available for me.
