AT&T and Vlingo come to a deal for speech recognition applications
Voice recognition software has been packed with some mobile phones for some time – making it easy to simply call someone with your voice. There have been numerous stories where text messaging was found to be the culprit of many fatal accidents across the county. Luckily though, a new alliance between AT&T and Vlingo may produce an application that will allow people to send text messages and email with the power of their voice. The new licensing agreement incorporates AT&T's Watson technology and Vlingo's speech enabled applications – with AT&T taking a minority equity stake in Vlingo. Now there isn't a definite course to the completion of this user interface, but we're hopeful that it is integrated smoothly without too many complications.
