AT&T adds auto-authentication Wi-Fi support for iPhone OS 3.0
AT&T has announced that iPhone users with iPhone OS 3.0 installed will be able to take advantage of auto-authentication when connecting to the carrier’s Wi-Fi network. This will make switching from 3G to Wi-Fi faster, as customers will no longer have to go through the slower two-step authentication process. The feature will get activated after the first time users connect to an AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot (more than 20,000 across the U.S.). Of course, iPhone 3G S users will also take advantage of the faster process.
