AT&T Toggle allows you to quickly switch your phone from work to play and back again

Ever wish you can use the same smartphone at work and play simply by flicking a switch? AT&T Toggle allows you to change your handset from Personal Mode to Work Mode. With the former, you can send text messages to friends, watch multimedia content like television or movies and play games. All of your personal things are kept separate from your work. Work Mode allows users to access company email, calendars and apps, just like you would on a company provided smartphone.

According to John Stankey, President and CEO of AT&T Business Solutions, 50 million employees could be helped by using mobile business apps. Using both the cloud and mobility services could transform businesses according to Stankey. As for bringing your own smartphone to work, a Forrester Research survey conducted this past July shows that 60% of corporations allow employees to bring in their own handset to the office and provide IT for some or all of these devices.

Letting employees bring in to work their own smartphone could help raise morale and save on costs. And using AT&T Toggle could help companies get around the problem of having 20 employees coming to work with 20 different phone models. AT&T Toggle allows companies to manage which employees get access to which data. AT&T Toggle can add,delete or update business apps stored on personal devices and wipe sensitive corporate info off a phone stored in work mode if an employee is fired or loses his phone (sometimes the first leads to the second!).

AT&T Toggle is expected to be available sometime before the end of the year.
