ASUS and Google to introduce Google Nexus 7 sequel in May

According to upstream supply sources, Google and ASUS will introduce the sequel to their Google Nexus 7 in May while pricing will remain in the same $199-$249 range for the device; among the changes will be a FHD display with an industrial border and a thinner display border; both companies expect to sell a total of 10 million units combined of the original and sequel by the end of the year...

AGood call. By improving the display and border they literally just enhanced the only two aspects of mu Nexus 7 that im not thrilled about. Wish there was an sd card slot but that's okay.
Edit *** They would do well to greatly improve the video quality of the front facing camera.

Waited a couple of months and can wait a few more before buying one of these beasts. Updated Nexus 10, nexgen Nexus 7, maybe a Nexus 8 FHD, that would be the ideal in-betweener, or the Ipad Mini 2. Really is the year of mature tablets with $400 tops for high-end technology.

Just make few hundred or thousand unit and then say out of stock after few days. Then tell people "Our OEM manufacturer can not meet the demand".

Nexus 4 launch has been much worse than Nexus 7's. They were much quicker to fix their supply issues. Plus, don't you think Asus might have learnt from experience? I don't believe there will be supply issues like before for the new Nexus 7

nexus 4 demands were overwhelming. nexus 7 demands were nowhere near that of nexus 4 and were still sold out. moreover, the 3g version of nexus 7 also sold out.
you must not know how demand and supply work. manufacturers do not simply supply as much as they can. they supply an optimal amount. go take a class in economics simpleton

noce one google, but hoping 7.7" (im not refering to the iPad mini, but the size of the galaxy tab 7.7, which is a good screen size, not too small, not too big either) screen size but maintain the slimness!
hope they keep the tegra 4 since im sure snapdragon 800 will be pricey...and add a rear camera too!
even i dont like android, i only like android with stock UI on it, samsung and others ruin the experience!

I'm hoping for Nexus 7.7.
With a 1920 x 1200 resolution, a little thinner bezels all around, and Tegra 4.
An appropriate upgrade over last years model.

I am wishing for something new in Android 5.0 on the new Nexus 7 or whatever it will be called. I want the on-screen buttons gone...like forever. They take away precious space from the screen. Android needs gestures. A swipe from bottom to top for options such as home, back, multitasking etc. instead of on-screen buttons....OR something new!

ehh multitasking i can live with for a gesture and then button press... but home and back?? no way!! there needs to be dedicated buttons/dedicated gestures for these because they are too important to have 2 or more steps to do them..

this time i'll wait 3-4 months before buying this model...so i would not have any regrets of buying it as soon as it was released and then found out that after a few months they release an upgraded version of this model...and at least the price would be cheaper..and besides my nexus 7 ow is sufficient enough for my needs...^^

FHD is not really necessary, i rather have More Storage and battery.
Give me the least amount bezel possible so when i add my otterbox, i can still put it in my pocket.
Same price range is a win
Next Gen Processor would be nice but not necessary, Current 7 is Fast, Real Fast

Gotta upgrade that Processor if its going Full HD. The Tegra 3 was JUST enough to make it run 100% smooth if youre using the right rom/kernel. Stock 4.2 still has a tiny bit of choppyness in spots.

FHD diaplay for $249. Unless the Gal Tab 8 has some amazing features, I'll be returning to the Nexus fold.
