ABC News app is updated; new features include multiple live feeds

ABC News just recently updated its iOS and Android apps, adding a new live streaming section that allows users to monitor multiple live feeds at the same time. Some of these feeds are just webcams focused on U.S. landmarks such as the New York City skyline, Ol' Faithful and the Capitol Building. Other live feeds show breaking news right as the events are taking place. During the attempted coup in Turkey, one of the live feeds was from a Turkish television network broadcasting live.

In addition to the multiple live feeds (you can see up to eight at one time), the app includes a section where you can read the latest top stories; click on "shows" to watch video on demand from ABC News programs like World News Tonight, Nightline, 20/20 and more. You can also listen to the latest broadcast from ABC Radio News, enjoy podcasts, and set alarms to be notified when certain topics make the news.

With the Republican and Democratic National Conventions coming up (the GOP gets together starting tomorrow), ABC News picked a perfect time to revise its app. Designed for news junkies who can't get enough information, ABC News has raised the bar with this update. Arguably the most varied mobile news experience, you can install the iOS and Android versions of the app for free from the App Store and Google Play Store, respectively.
