Despite worries about Nokia from analysts on Wall Street, some of the biggest names on the Street are adding to their position in the stock including Morgan Stanley, which has increased its position by 400%; the stock has risen sharply in the last few days...

OH, Nokia just burned other big companies like toast, y'all want some extra bitter with this stuff?!?!?!?!?!

I agree. the good thing with nokia being down right now is there is no other way to go but up! And at the rate that they are innovating right now makes it the more possible at the soonest time...

920 hardware is impressive, it's pity that 920 is not positioned as top phone but middle one.
Nokia, take Jolla back and you will do better.

I agree that the 920 is top-tier. Problem is, there has yet to develop an ardent following by the masses so they're pricing accordingly (I have to assume).
I love Android, but I can easily imagine switching to a WP. In a couple of years. Not yet.

How is it that Nokia can do better with Jolla, seriously? What does Sailfish have that WP8 doesn't? I see wp8 has office, xbox connection, xbox music, cloud, FB, twitter, Skype integration, etc.. What more do you folks want?

MS is very slow and bureaucratic company, and WP doesn't have any features to compete with established OSes.
We can see time and time again efforts from Nokia are hampered by MS.
With Jolla Nokia can take its fortunes in its own hands.

By the way, Office, Xbox... are not WP8 features but apps and those apps will be made available on other platforms as well by MS.

Im not sure what out of this world features you're looking, but my experience with WP has Been outstanding. Sure there are features that I'd love to see but 99% those wanted are coming. This is why MS has feature request page. WP is a young Os. It has more room to grow than the old timers. Its a good MS didn't every feature all at one time as it gives time for them to research ways to implement on the next update. And sailfish reminds me of BB10.

i take it that when you say that the "920 is not positioned a top phone but midde one," could only mean that you believe that nokia is the only company capable to put a phone this good to a middle status, and their middle status phone has been and is still being compared nonstop by phonearena to other companies' top tier phones, which only makes nokia truly a great company...

The fact is 920 are selling at $100 on contract by AT&T, Top phones sell at $200 or more.
920 has great innovations but it has the same specs as GS3 or One X, the middle phones right now.
Currently top phones are Nexus 4, Droid DNA, One X+, Note 2, iPhone 5.
24. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
so what defines a top tier phone is price now, well the nexus 4 is middle then plus if you take its low price out of it the nexus 4 is a bland device not offering anything new or amazing.
second the hardwarde on the 920 is more then enough to run wp8 without lag and extremely smooth. they could have plonked quad core in there but there wouldnt be any point it doesnt need it. it would go wasted like on pretty much all phones right now
and i just love how you say the iphone 5 is top tier when you have spent days saying its nothing and crap blah blah.
top phones right now are : Droid DNA, Note 2, iphone 5, Lumia 920. there are probably a few others but not the nexus 4 with your logic

The selling rate of the new Lumia seems great.

so glad that both RIM and Nokia is gaining back its market share!
i think iPhone will be a bit dated if apple wont make some major revamp on its iOS!
while android, need to fix more coz there's still bugs and awful malwares...but its getting mature and more usable (but still dont like android!)

still no WP8 in Philippines. I'm craving for this phone

ikr! i dont know why the left us behind!
8. rickywinataa (Posts: 262; Member since: 05 Apr 2012)
nokia always focuses on european an north american market. i heard that SEA market will get 920 in december or january but who knows.
920 is amazing from hardware standpoint, wp8 is good but there's a lot of improvement need to be made to make it a really solid os
11. pikapowerize (banned) (Posts: 1869; Member since: 03 May 2012)
that really sucks... i really hate why nokia concentrate to the part of the world that they dont get much love... while the other part of the world that love them so much, but they dont care about them....
well maybe nokia is playing nice... they want to be love by the countries that they dont get that much love...but hope they shouldn't forgot the other part too, where they got so much love... because if they will not bring that lumia 920, they might loose more market and the love from these countries!!!
thats why i so love RIM, coz they support the countries that they got much love!
12. rickywinataa (Posts: 262; Member since: 05 Apr 2012)
RIM doesn't prioritize SEA countries because they want to but because they don't have any more markets in europe and north america.
i would say samsung plays fair in distribution. SEA countries get the latest product around 1 week behind europe
18. phil2n (Posts: 487; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
Malaysia gets Samsung first (1 or 2 days advance) before US and EU.. that is a good strategy by sammy
19. rickywinataa (Posts: 262; Member since: 05 Apr 2012)
seriously ? indonesia gets samsung devices 1 or 2 days after singapore

There's already windows phone 8x and 8s by htc here in the Philippines, but I haven't heard anything about the new lumia devices from nokia yet.
16. gothicheart (Posts: 83; Member since: 17 Oct 2012)
yup, the 8x and 8s are are already here, but I think that really is irrelevant 'coz when people talk about wp8, they automatically think Nokia. There really is a big difference between being here (8x/8s), and being really wanted here (920)
20. rickywinataa (Posts: 262; Member since: 05 Apr 2012)
htc : a great smartphone manifacture, great specs with great hardware and material, but they don't have the selling point. such as s3 with smartstay and other software features & lumia 920 with great screen and excellent low-light camera performance

lets just hope that by the end of November we will see a Lumia esp. 920 on South East Asia (SEA)
