except Gas isn't renewable so I really don't see Exxon's point. It'll run out. Gas will run out and at least our society is smart enough to start looking for new sources.

Ok this is so stupid. If the iPhone used gas it will be like a Molotov cocktail. Don't drop it because it will explode. Gosh this was a stupid article. Fossil fuels are NOT the future. It's a limited resource we are almost done with. Hydrogen & Solar power are the future.

Nobody is suggesting that one would actually use gas to directly power a phone. All they are saying is the amount of raw energy in a gallon of gas would provide an amount of energy sufficient to charge an iPhone once a day for 20 years. I don't disagree with you on fossil fuels not being the future, but yours is a mis-reading of the article.

Anyways, Jasongohjr I completely agree with you, solar technology should have been implemented years ago!! Maybe not to even fully substitute a plug charger method, but at least use the technology to prolong battery charge.

Here's a hint: if you are going to use sarcasm or be "facetious" using the written word, you have to make some indication that that is what you are doing, a la Stephen Colbert over-the-top ignorance.
