A better Boulder from Verizon?
After a few months on the market, Verizon has released an update to the Casio G'zOne Boulder we reviewed in August. The most noticeable change is the addition of a front speaker, which works in conjunction with the back speaker, so that it is louder and easier to hear. No other updates are expected on the device, but it is available now from the Verizon site for $199 on a 2-year contract.

Hope this fixes the speakerphone issue the first bolder had.

trying this out this afternoon and I can honestly state that this increased the volume 200% compared to the last gen. Nice move, but it may be too late. And I hope VZW allows customers who have the original gen to trade it in for the one that works a lot better.

What I got from a VZW Rep. Also the new devices should be coming with an extra battery. One standard battery and one extended battery. Overview Due to the feedback from customers regarding the speakerphone performance while using the Push to Talk service, PCD has delivered new hardware for the Boulder device with improved speakerphone quality for PTT calls. Resolution VZW is providing new hardware for customers who are enrolled in the Push To Talk service and are not completely satisfied with the speakerphone performance while using PTT mode. This is for Push To Talk customers only. Non-Push To Talk customers have access to our standard Certified Like-New Replacement program. Action Provided all other Certified Like-New Replacement eligibility requirements are met. Customers experiencing this issue who subscribe to PTT service can be provided a Certified Like-New Replacement for their respective Boulder device. The devices will be available in the Distribution Centers on Wednesday, December 3rd.

This phone has horrible call quality. I couldn't even recognize my own answering machine when I called it.

Thanks for using my picture. The new Boulder call quality is far better (ear piece and speaker).
