A battery endurance test of Android phones confirms that "DROID DOES"

Battery lives of a few top-shelf Android handsets get tested under similar circumstances, and the two latest DROIDs with the 45nm OMAP chipset come way ahead...

that's what I thought. some moron at phonedog reviewed the droid x and said the battery was so horrible and frustrating. yet it has the best battery life on any android device. And in case you were wondering, it WASN'T Noah.

Wow, my CAPTIVATE did poorly on this test and yet, in a real world test, performed by MOI, it does just fine, lasting 15 hours of talk, text, downloading and web browsing on a full charge, with with screen brightness on low, of course.....wow, the dell streak did awesome. Either way, if you have an ANDROID phone, then life is good.

lol, that is funny as my wife has iphone 3GS and my calls on CAPTIVATE with SAMSET or HACKECLAIR ROM sound clear and loudly quiet while hers has static that is heard on her end, at times. You must not read anything I have posted here before, as I have never owned an IPHONE and plan to never own one. Droid does...even on AT&T - watch out for the next super tablet the SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB....

this is a specific test and it does not garuntee real world results. different programs take different amounts of power. like the article clearly states, the amoled screens sip power compared to lcd, exept when whites are concerned... so, browsing web pages have alot of white involved normally. do the same test with a video running or just an active background. the results will vary. my galaxy/vibrant goes all day under heavy use. evos, droids, and the like cant do that. and if they bring the samsung tab out in a 9-10 inch form, imma totally snag that up.

GALLLLLLLLLAXY....lol, just like some stupid DROID or apple fanboy....lol The tab is a much more appealing tablet than the iPAD...DELL STREAK looks nice, too.

I have to say my usage of the X confirms these results; I'm a moderate to heavy user, and unless I'm constantly playing games or using the Bluetooth I can stretch the battery from about 7 in the morning to almost midnight. Even with Bluetooth on the battery will last a good amount of time and can get you through a normal workday.

What DROID does not do, or rather VERIZON, is have commercials that make you want to buy the phone - I keep seeing that stupid HAIKU commercial as well as others and it does not help VERIZON to sell their DROID phones. They are awesome phones, and need the right marketing team to advertise the product. If it was not for the CAPTIVATE, I would have gone back to verizon or gone to SPRINT. Also, what hurts all of these smartphones, is the parts shortage. By the time you get the phone the 3.0 version will be around the corner...lol

DROID X is better than all but one or two phones with AT&T and most other companies, too...how did that commercial lure you in....very lame it is....hmmmm....

The Rule the Air campaign is great, it makes me want to buy a Verizon phone. I especially like the one where it shows off the hotspot, or the football one.

Says the fact that DROID has outsold both Blackberry and iPhone so far this year. Keep trying...

Yeah, how about a comparison to some other platforms?? I bet my Symbian device will go twice as long as any Android device. In fact, after having the Captivate for a week, and comparing it to my other Symbian phones, I know Symbian has the upper hand when it comes to endurance. I think Android needs to be made a lot more efficient, and users should be given options on if and when they want data to be used. This whole connected all the time business is nice, but not at the expense of battery life. I'll decide when I want to be connected.
