If you're a human being living in the civilized world, then you probably know how it feels to wake up in the morning feeling as sleepy as you did when you went to bed. This isn't necessarily caused by insufficient sleep time, as it turns out. Sometimes the culprit could be your own sleeping cycle, or its untimely interruption, to be more specific. You see, people sleep in cycles lasting roughly 90 minutes each. Wake up between one of these and you'll be feeling just fine. Wake up in the middle of a sleep cycle, however, and you'll end up feeling groggy and tired throughout the morning...

Wao, interesting. I should try this, because I have to wake up every morning at 6:30 am to get to school, and I feel like a .... IDK, dead grumpy unicorn willing to suck everyones souls I guess? I hope this will help me feel just fine! Thanks PA.

Not accurate. 60-90 minutes. It can give you an idea, but don't take it that serious. And it's a habit. If you sleep regularly for 8 hours, then before exams, 3 or less hours of sleep, u will feel grumpy for sure. My advice; Watch sponge Bob!

The problem is, I always go to bed at 10pm, sleep about 8 and a half hours, which is good. But when I wake up.. bwaah....*grumpy mode activated*
I am still going to try this baby out, lel.

Not to be rude, but 8.5 hours is a lot of sleep.. Men on an average require no more than 6 hours, that's bare minimum. But 7 is the magic number, most optimum and you tend to wake up refreshed and active. Try it out.
8 hours is recommended by scientists but largely debated since anything more than 8 causes lethargy (as you described).

Stupid app. Uninformed article. PA Editor and Nick, do a little more research or mark it advertising before posting fluff like this.
There are so many more robust sleep apps out there that actually do something.
I have been using SleepBot (by SleepBot) for 6 months now and love it! It can monitor your movement and restlessness to find an optimal time to wake you up +/- 15 minutes of your desired wake up time. This functions on the 90 minutes you reported in the article. Additionally, you can visually see your restlessness throughout the night and over the course of time.
Another cool feature is the sound recording. Ever wonder if you snore? Have sleep apnea? Talk in your sleep? This app can record the sounds and you can play them back later.
