9 out of 10 active Windows Phone handsets in the U.S. are branded by Nokia

Alan Mendelevich is the founder of AdDuplex, a mobile ad network that focuses on Windows Phone. As such, Mendelevich has insight into what is going on behind the scenes with the platform. According to some tweets he sent out on Saturday, 90% of active Windows Phone handsets in the U.S. were made by Nokia. Surely that figure doesn't shock those of you who follow the mobile phone industry...

.....not for the win, for the loss. The other partners have long since abandoned MS, and now the diversity in the ecosystem goes to hell. Now watch as MS tries to go Apple, screwing over everyone on the way but not having the same pull as Apple because of the lack of mindless fanboys in their ecosystem.

I think they (MS) should just keep their phone os to themselves and do what apple does - not licensing their phones os (since they purchased the devices dept. of Nokia).
>>>"and now the diversity in the ecosystem goes to hell"
honestly, this is also happening in android (samsung domination). There's your android diversity going to hell...
>>>"the other partners have long since abandoned MS"
Not true, we have seen huawei continuously pushing their WP line of devices and pledges from numerous amounts of both chinese OEMS and south korean OEMS that they will be making WP devices in 2014.
>>>"lack of mindless fanboys"
Firstly, this was a stupid comment that you have used to try and start a fight.
Secondly, not all apple fans are mindless - quite a number of them are informed techies. Overpriced doesnt = a bad product. IT just means its overpriced.

Not all are mindless, I'm just saying there are more in the Apple camp, enough to float their worst products until they get better. Still, you would have to be stupid to think that the Chinese are going to push the MS envelop, because you won't see them outside of China. The diversity in Android is still there and Samsung just sells the most, that doesn't mean that Sony can't have a glass phone with 20MP camera, or LG cannot have a flexible phone with self healing plastic. Please take the blinders off, everyone knows MS wants to be Apple but they can't, their products just don't have the Appeal or cohesiveness.

Hey PhoneArena! Any word on the 928 Lumia for Verizon? Lots of sites said it would be the 21st of November but now everyone is silent. Any new leads?

Lumia 928 is Verizon exclusive if I'm not mistaken. You must be talking about the Lumia 929.

That 1 out of 10 missing is due to Sprint not carrying any Lumia models.

Goes to show that only one OEM cares about the WP platform...or should I say paid billions to care?
