like it or not, Apple dominates the tablet market. They were first to market by months and have a huge head start. Motorola botched the launch of the Xoom which should have been the first real competitor so now we wait on Samsung to correct that. And as fiercely competative as theyve been with apple, they will probably do it right.

Apple had a huge head start on the multi-touch smartphone market and look at them SINKING today!

NPD reports that iPhone market share is dropping to 15% this year, google it!

Then, they will drop to reflect the same share of their PC market...down to 5%.

But, sites like this one, run by Apple, will gloss over this fact (why wasn't it reported here??) so they can sell you their $350 shares before it tanks back down to $85.

You have to remember that. . .
1. Windows tablets are not counted as "tablets" usually. Because the "do more" they are counted as PCs.
2. The Nook Color, the most popular "tablet" in North America, is also not counted in this "ipad-like tablet" category. . .

It's kind of like say the iPod has a dominant market share. Sure, it does for a specifically defined category because most normal people use multi-functional devices to play music--50+% of cellphone users user their phone to play music as their main portable "mp3 player". . . not an mp3/pmp/ipod => over 500M/year but that 40-80M iPods/year is the "market leader."

no the nook color is counted in this... in many surveys it is shown to have just a little less share than the galaxy tab

Reading is one thing; comprehending what was written is another matter.

If one subsitutes "shining turds" for the last two words, then one can attempt to understand luis_lopez_351's slam of the most successful table to date.
