The A15-A57 are all 3-issue designs, in other worlds 3 instructions are moved from a decode queue to a reordering queue per clock cycle. The A7 however is a 6-issue design and features additional load/store a branch units which explains the performance difference.

Btw every SoC uses thermal throttling, even the A7. The issue with Qualcomm is their aggressive power gating and hotplugging mechanisms which sometimes produce undesirable effects.

If you check all the benchmarks, the A8 loses to the SD805 in overall performance in pretty much every one, let alone the A7.

They are far behind? The technology in qualcomm's products is years ahead of many people, apple even uses there technology. Talk about the whole soc instead of just core-for-core. Adreno 430 is going to murder the a8, a7, and maybe even the a8x. Sd810 is the first to use LPDDR4 ram. Meanwhile the a8 only uses 2 cores while s810 will use 8 cores. In addition, look at the features above and there is more that PA forgot to mention. S810 is going to be a killer chip.

i said before that the only reason i am backing off the Exynos-equipped devices is that they are closed-sourced not like Qualcomm
Exynos outperform Qualcomm specially in the CPU side
but let's not lose hope, maybe there is a surprise, who knows!

Next year both will be A57-A53 octa cores, so they┬┤ll most likely be on par. At least till either of them designs their own 64bit core.
