Well, well, look what we have here! It looks like Sprint is about to announce a tempting deal in effort to lure in some customers over from competitor carriers. The Family Switcher Offer, as it is being referred to, gives $400 worth of credit towards the purchase of Sprint phones, and eligible for the deal are families who wish to transfer their accounts...

I've been with Sprint for over ten years now. I really can't recommend anyone comes on board until their LTE rollout is finished. I live in Seattle a market of 3 million plus and we're still on 500 Kbps(real world transfer speeds) EVDO coverage... Totally crap and unacceptable.

Well, yes, but I just signed up for this plan. Got 4 nice, quad core phones, basically for free. I'm paying less now, than I was with ATT, and how have unlimited data.
And the best part, I'm getting 5Mb/sec download and almost 3Mb/sec upload. Yes, I know what your thinking, the idiot was using his wifi connection. But no, I tested the speed both ways, and it was somewhat FASTER WHEN I TURNED OFF THE WIFI!
This setup rocks. The phones surf the web as almost as fast as my desktop computer.
The salesman told me some people are using this (Unlimited, not throttled, fast data connection) as their only connection (no phone land line, no cable company, no other internet connection).
And I live 25 miles from the nearest big city (Dallas). The Sprint salesman told me they didn't have the fast connection in my area yet, but they were expanding fast.
Really, this is worth checking out.

I am in Louisville, KY. No LTE, no Wimax. I wish I could even get a steady 500k download rate.... I average maybe 300k

it doesnt matter if they offered a free S3 or Note2..........I still wouldnt go back to Sprint. The only network worse than theirs is Tmobile lol. I live in Saint Louis and their network was crap when I had it in 2009 and it doesnt seem like theyve changed anything since then. Who uses WiMax??? Wasnt it supposed to rival Verizon and AT&T???
This is not a agood idea for Sprint if they rthink that this would lure people away from AT&T and Verizon

What good is truly unlimited data or a 4G LTE capable phone when I can't fully take advantage of either? How you ask? Well, Sprint 3G is just horribly slow. Luckily, I'm on a college campus, so I have Wi-Fi access pretty much all over campus. Way faster than Sprint's network, that's for sure.

Isn't this for Illinois customers only I thought? Even the first sentence of Eligibility says "IL". Hum? I dunno.

IL stands for individual liable accounts not illinois

I guess the right customer can be attracted the Sprint package and this promotion. Sprint's data speeds have improved, but not a lot, and not everywhere. A lot of people don't need fast data speeds and 500k is just fine for them. People that most on wireless news sites...not so much. I'd be happy if i could get 2mb a second everywhere, LTE or no LTE. I don't drop calls with Sprint (Denver), and that's what i care most about. If fast data network Sprint is not.
