Verizon is going underground. The nation's largest carrier is setting up service for 35 New York City subway stations on the west side of Manhattan from 23rd St. to 96th St. That covers some of the most famous and expensive real estate including Times Square, Lincoln Center and Rockefeller Center. Now this does not mean that you are going to get service on the actual subway car...

Some of the subway lines aren't too far underground in which I can get reliable 4G service on my Verizon phone. Astor Place on the 6 line is one of them, as is 23rd St. on the N. There are more but can't recall them for sure at this moment. With trains above ground service is pretty much a given. I also get reliable Verizon service along the LIRR, even in the midtown tunnel into Penn Station.

It's not only Verizon. AT&T and Tmobile also.
I use it everyday.
