3 years ago probably 80% of potential tablet buyers would have had their eyes on purchasing an iPad and last year it was proabably around 50%. Now its down to around 30%
Not something to be excited about.

So after 3 years, the start of which had Apple around 85% of the tablet market, they've settled into similar market share to the iPhone.

Yeah, and of those 32% of people 30% only want the iPad because it's "made" by Apple (actually by Samsung) and everyone has it. The other 2% are people like us on this site who can make informed decisions (to buy iPads) for ourselves.

What? Not really made by samsung, samsung uses their manufacturing for apple, but apple makes the processors themselves and have samsung mass produce them thats all, and the reason why apple sells their devices is because of customer service, user experience, above specs and all you know apple cares about the user experience on their devices and thats why their device get updates without carrier interference.

If you ask people what processor the iPad runs on, I bet you 90% of people wouldn't know, let alone the screen resolution. The only other educated guess I can make for people wanting the iPad, therefore, is their brand loyalty and attraction.

the same can be said about people buying Androids... no idea of the proccessor what version of Android they are on, so I dont get yourt point.

no stupid they get updates like that because its written into the contract they cant interfere with new software, and service are you kidding me what service they charge you to do anything if all the makers had a store around they would all be like apple. apple has the stores and "genius" bars because most people that have there stuff no nothing about the phone and if it locks up they take it to the store pay them to disconnect the battery and reapply it HINT its called power cycle for all devices that use any electronics.

Don't be ridiculous. Samsung only makes the processor and memory. LG and others make the screens. Apple designed it and specced it out, and the Chinese assemble it. You make it sound like Apple owes it all to Samsung when it's made all over Asia.

In other words, what I meant was that the tablet is not made by Apple at all.

It's a globalized industry. The only product Motorola makes - assembles, really - is the Moto X. I don't care who manufactures the SoC, screen, casing... I'm buying the design and software.
(I'm picking on Motorola because they're the only other US company.)

my shoes are in made in China, but my shoes are not Chinese.. go figure

denial. so say it after me.. My shoe is made in China but they are American shoes because i said so. American manufacturing industries does not exist anymore so i convince myself that made in china is the same as made in American.
Sound right man!

I just don't get why people are picking on Apple for using Korean and Japanese parts and manufacturing in China. It's nothing new, and the competition (Amazon, Motorola) does the same damn thing. Is Samsung somehow better because they're vertically integrated? It just makes them nimbler and more Korean.

true but with out samsung apple would be dead in the water. why do you think they sue them, its money going back to samsung anyways they just want to be cheap and not pay for work thats why people kill themselves that are forced to work for them making the phones and stuff.
69. roldefol (Posts: 4310; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
Without Samsung, they would find some other Asian supplier. You think Samsung wants to send parts to its toughest competitor? Both sides are just playing the game. They all get our money in the end.

Finally you agree that both are there for the money and fans are children kicking a big fuss over childish nothing!
Good! I agreed with that too!

that and people at walmart and best buy that say oh yeah its the fastest and you will never have a virus or bug, prey on people that know nothing about tech. its so sad how many people buy crap from apple just because they hear its new and other people have and want it. then all they do is listen to music on it and look around the web because thats about as much as it can do.

A thing that I have noticed is that Apple is encountering the "Band-Aid" issue with tablets- people think "iPad" and "Tablet" mean identical things. I can't count the amount of people that have asked me if my tablet was a Samsung iPad, or people who want the Kindle iPad.
22. roldefol (Posts: 4310; Member since: 28 Jan 2011)
Didn't take us long to get over the "iPad? *snicker* sounds like a feminine hygeine product" line.
