$18 Lightning to 30-pin adapter hits Amazon

For something as basic as a cable converter, the Lightning to 30-pin adapter sure is pricey. Each iPhone 5 user who wants to use their existing accessories will have to drop anything from $29 to $39 in order to get one from Apple. Thankfully, alternatives are now listed on Amazon...

It could well be from the same factories who are supplying to Apple and essentially the same thing. Private Label?

Correct me if I am wrong but was it not mentioned that Apple was the only one that would offer this solution and that it forbid any other third party from manufacturing this converter?

You cannot "Dock" the device with a cord between the accessory and the device. It'll be flopping all over. I wanted a new Nano, but as the converter from Apple is likely to be incompatible with analog devices, my speaker dock will be worthless, so I guess I stick with the old device for now.

I wanted the new nano too. But I find the new design quite ugly. The white face against the colour back "is not an elegant solution"... >_< May have to go for the ipod touch instead.

I knew 3rd parties would start making their own adaptors. A few weeks ago it spread through the internet that Apple was going to ban all others from making adaptors so they can be the only ones to sell it and reap all the profits... the internet is way too fanatic.

I dont see what all the fuss is about with this lightning adapter, its fast, small and great technology, plus there will be loads of third parties manufacturers making it available at a much more reasonable price, i bought mine athttp://www.lightningadapter.co
m received the next day and works great.
