10.8-inch Sharp Galapagos tablet hits the FCC
Apple's iPad seems to have opened Pandora's box for tablets. After just about every major tech company you can think of announced that it will join in the tablet race, now Sharp follows suit as its 10.8-inch Galapagos EB-WX1GJ hit the FCC. The tablet is already out in Japan and now it looks like it will come to the U.S. as well.

The manual for the device also mentions a 5.5-inch version labeled EB-W51GJ, which is expected to run on customized Linux. The larger tablet has an awesomeresolution of 800 x 1366 pixels, while the 5.5-inch version's resolution is almost equally great at 600 x 1024.

In Japan, the larger tablet carried a hefty price tag of some $650, but pricing in the States is still an unknown. No details were available about when can we expect it, but hey, CES might know and we will certainly be there to ask.
