Anyone living close to the destination the Apple map spots? Can you see if there is any 'apple' tree somewhere around the spot. :D

This is horrible, like the article says, some errors are understandable but these are big issues that cannot be overlooked.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if the building iMaps labeled as the Sears tower is actually the new location of Sears' HQs? Though if so, it is certainly known as the "Sears Tower".

When a company introduces a new feature and it's buggy - it's excusable.

When a company introduces a new feature which replaces an existing feature just because of the fact that the old feature was provided by that company's rival - so they decide to replace it because of their sheer egoism - and the new feature turns buggy - it's a blatant disregard for consumer needs.

Nope it's not, but do u honestly expect apple not to address these issues with future updates and fix it. C'mon... Apple released a brand new from the ground up map app, with no prior experience in the field, they will get it rite with a few updates and it'll b all good.

Actually it's not new. It based off of Tom Tom's maps "engine". They are helping Apple with it. but most people know that already.

The thing is, they had Google Maps, which is arguably the best mapping solution (beats Nokia Maps due to its integration with Google Now).
Why change that? plus the lack of street view is a bummer for me. My dad needs that loads when he travels to London to visit me or for some business to know what a location looks like.
Fly-over, whilst sound perfect in the Apple Announcement, fail horribly.

Just hope they allow Google Maps on the App Store so that my dad can get back to using it properly, otherwise a whole lot of people are going to be pissed. (search twitter for examples)

While I agree that google maps work well with google now (for those that have it), Nokia's maps link directly from not only the Local Search, Public Transport, and Drive apps, but also the Bing search app (which, of course, can be voice-controlled), as well as offering the excellent City Lens functionality. All Nokia needs is a StreetView type program and google will have nothing on them. Plus, offline availability is wonderful, no worries about network connectivity or data consumption!
