10 billion downloads for the Android Market since its opening

During the weekend that just passed, the Amazon Market has exceeded 10 billion downloads and some of the reason can be attributed to the 550,000 new Android handsets activated daily; in comparison, Apple's App Store has had 15 billion downloads while RIM has had 1 billion from App World...

I was starting to wonder when this was going to be put up on this site. I've downloading 5 of today's 10 apps. I'm hoping tomorrow will bring different premium apps.

The way android sales are going and taking over expect this figure to rise considerable even faster!! They will no doubt spike higher over the christmas period with presents being activated
