10 Windows Phone games you should try
If you are a fan of strategy games, you should give ARMED! a try. It is a turn-based strategy game with a sci-fi theme, and your goal is to crush the enemy with your mechanized army. It features online multiplayer mode so you can challenge gamers from all over the world.
Here is a nicely-made tower defense game for your Windows Phone handset. It offers 30 levels of various difficulty, and while the first ones are fairly easy to beat, the later ones will push your strategic skills to the limit.
Dragon's Blade DX is a title that will appeal mostly to fans of the original Zelda and Final Fantasy series. It is a top-down role-playing game with retro graphics and a nostalgic feel. Oh, if that $7 price tag seems too steep, there is a free, ad-supported version of the game available as well.
One cannot be called a true fan of strategy games if they have not played Sid Meier's Civilization series. Well, here comes a title made for Windows Phone! Do you have what it takes to lead your nation from the dawn of man to the modern age?
Chickens Can't Fly is a game that is easy to learn, but tricky to master. In a nutshell, you guide the chicken around obstacles as it descends while collecting power-ups along the way. It may sound simple, but the game gets pretty challenging once you get to the higher levels.
Here is another chicken-themed game! This time, the chickens are invading Earth and only you - a brave space cadet, can stop them! What you have at your disposal are a variety of weapons, power-ups, and your trusty space ship, of course.
Zombie Defence is well-made mix between a shooter and a tower defense game. You get plenty of upgradeable towers and a sniper rifle to take down those massive hoards of zombies with.
Price: $ 2.99
Here is yet another strategy game, but this time the action is situated in a magical world of castles, fairytales, and mythical creatures. You are the king of this fantasy kingdom and it is up to you to defend it against the forces of evil while making sure your peasants are safe and sound.
In MonsterUp, you control an adorable monster that desperately wants to get as high in the sky as possible. And doing so requires you to jump from platform to platform while taking advantage of your monster's skills and using power-ups along the way.
Akane the Kunoichi is a nice platformer game with a retro feel, yet a modern twist. You take the role of protagonist Akane, who is on a mission to save her master Goro. Evil ninjas and giant bosses will be standing in your way, however, so better gather all the ninja strenght you have before engaging in battle.
