From the last information I have heard, this should be going through 11/3, so I'm hoping this will also cover the Storm2 when it launches. With this BOGO offer, if you buy a BB, you can get another BB free without a rebate on the second one. If you get a different model phone, it would be free AFTER the mail-in rebate.
Also, this BOGO offer includes the HP mini Netbook! If you buy a BB Tour, you can get a netbook free after rebate when you activate the mobile broadband plan. This is a HUGE deal!
I should be getting one to demo for 4 months, should be getting it at the beginning of next week. It looks nice, feels much better in the hand than the Glyde, better touch screen in general
Exactly. If you think about it, why would you buy a phone that has an HTML web browser if you aren't going to use it? VZW is not the first company to require a data package on a "dumb phone". If you want this phone, or really a lot of the future phones, you have to pay for the services on it.
from my experience working in a store, most of the people who would buy this phone, or really any camera phone for that matter, will be complaining that it has such a great camera but does not look great on the phone. Sure, get an SD memory card, load them on a computer, it'll look good.
yeah its definitely an internal site that should not be posted on here. if whoever posted that picture is caught, they would lose their job for giving out proprietary information. Luckily for everyone who doesn't work at vzw, nobody is really going to care enough to find who posts these pictures.
We are finally getting another bar-style phone! People have been asking for something like this for a while, and up to this poing, the only bar-style phones we offer are blackberry devices and a lot of people don't want to spend the extra money for the web package. Too bad it won't work on our premium plans though :(
i haven't seen a dummy phone in our store yet. i really hope the swivelling screen is only thing similar to the Samsung Flipshot! It looks like a pretty sharp looking phone though, and if it is water resistant like Casio's other phones, we may sell a few of these. Most people like the concept of the G'zone series, but it is not a good looking phone. I wonder how that camera looks on the screen? I was hoping for a much bigger screen.
Looks like it will be WM 6.1, but like all pdas, when there is a new os available, you can update yourself. We may have the 6.5 out by then, and if so, this should be launched with the phone.
For PDA sales, I probably sell 90% blackberry products, 10% windows os products. I do sell a few Samsung Omnias still, have never sold an HTC touch pro or diamond. I like the windows os, but most things are easier with bb os. I wish HTC products were a little cheaper too. The HTC touch pro sells out at $349, compared to a BB storm at $199 or Curve 8330 at $99 -- BIG difference.
This newer touch pro2 looks good. Hopefully it will be a good windows OS phone for once.
I havent heard anything official in the store about a launch date or anything. Storm sales are still very strong, I probably sell a good 50-60 of them a month. If it is true about customer service and technical service receiving training on the Storm2, it is likely also going to cover some sort of trade-in program. RIM already has a pda tradein program http://blackberry.flipswap.com/consumer/
Everyone talks about the iphone being such a great phone. I've played with it. Its cool. It wasn't the best or even the easiest phone in the world to use. Its a phone. The storm is a phone. It really comes down to being able to use it. I've had people port from Verizon to AT&T for the iphone, then port back because they didn't have service to use it. Now with Blackberry's AppWorld, it is a little closer to the iphone for applications, but still has the usability and blackberry functionality that people want.
The storm2 is going to be a great phone from what I can tell. I can't wait to hold one and play with it!
I played with one in the store yesterday. It seems like a pretty nice phone, better features than the original Voyager. This one is a little thinner than the past version, the touch screen seems a little better, and the 3 megapixel camera is very crisp. Just make sure if you buy this phone or any other touch screen, get SCREEN PROTECTORS! They will be sold in different packaging than the old touch screen phones. These will have 2 for the external screen, 2 for the internal screen.
