mostly BB's designs are boring, including this... yes its a corporate style handset but it doesnt have to be too conservative, to say the least... the ui is just as dull... they really need an overhaul in aesthetics... they've got the all conquering push technology that nobody can match, with a design tweak they'll be king of the world... (i think they also need to do more work or even develop a completely new OS so its more powerful like android or close to it)....
i want this phone if it really is android... dual cards, 5 mp with led (albeit the camera wont be spectacular).. i dont think it'll be 3g though as it will drain the battery.... but its still good for me...
this monster seems to integrate multiple communication apps (chat, sms, email, even skype) into one app (palm pre-like), what chat does it support ie. ym, google ? how easy it is to use the device, looks a bit confusing moving from one screen to screen ie. from app to home-screen, etc ? of course the battery.
let us know how sensitive the screen is despite resistive... from a couple of demo video, it seems very smooth... also cover how messaging (chat, sms, email), and social networking are handled.... do the chat & facebook or twitter are "push" through nokia messaging connection (like blackberry) or directly sync as its part of battery management...
why would they go with android ? they're the biggest phonemaker... yet, hopefully they're not as stubborn as a rock and realize they have some catching up to do in the smartphone playground... and, unfortunately, for their competitors they have... (almost) blackberry-like nokia messaging service is in beta and will come around soon, so in a not so distant future you would have the ever convenient push-notification, multi-media prowess, fun apps.... and of course ever-aspiring design in a nokia... n900 is sort of the prototype... who can beat that...
i'm a big fan of SE though i'm sad seeing them losing the game in the last couple of yrs, but theyve always had great features like cybershot, excellent music player with walkman, senseme, track id....
if you want to buy it off the shelves without contract it costs around us$800.... too expensive, now that htc hero's been stupendously improved with the new rom upgrade, i take hero any day over the pre.... dont get me wrong pre "was" the talk of the world with its webOS, but htc has caught up big time....
