AT&T got the Blackberry Bold though didn't they? Is that not the Tour or a similar handset? In fact, I think AT&T was the first to get the handset from RIM. So, I don't think they missed out at all.
endokun83 is exactly right. They knew MMS wasn't going to be available right away, so why advertise it so heavily. That's like touting the iPhone's phone capabilities but when you activate it you are unable to make a call. Stupid right? If they knew MMS was going to be an added feature later, they should have advertised as such instead of making people think its available right now.
I'm with you Mali. I'm definitely happy with this phone. I have a family plan and jumping ship to AT&T is an automatic extra $30 bucks a month and only half the minutes. And there are even rumors the pricing will go up for iPhone users if they want their precious MMS and tethering. Ridiculous.
I think the iPhone is awesome. But honestly, I don't think the iPhone is so awesome that I'm willing to pay way more money to have such a nice phone on an unreliable network. Sprint and Verizon's CDMA network is fantastic. 3G speed is super fast where I am and you just can't beat the prices Sprint offers. It's a no brainer with the Pre. It has lots to offer that the iPhone or any other phone can not match.
Chupum, there continues to be rumors about the Pre going to Verizon. I hope they come true. I think you'll love the phone. What do I like about it?
So far, I have to say the form factor is excellent. Although I love the iPhone's huge screen, the Pre's screen is a tad bit more crisp and because it's smaller and a bit rounder it feels great in your hand. Perfect I'd say.
The multitasking is incredible. I love switching from one open app to another. This is something you'll have to actually experience to really know what I'm talking about.
The notification system is the best I've ever seen, outdoing even the G1 but I still give the G1 credit for setting the bar when it comes to non-intrusive notifications.
The keyboard is a bit cramped, but nothing you won't get used to in no time flat. I think the same can be said about any keyboard (hard or soft).
The features are plenty my man. Do a search on youtube and watch the reviews. You'll see for yourself. Of course, there's really nothing like holding it in your hand and seeing how well it works.
It is a first gen phone so its not without its faults. But if Palm comes through with support and updates, this phone will continue to amaze me.
So far, I'm very happy with my purchase. The phone continues to impress me and am looking forward to new updates and new apps in the months to come.
I almost thought I might regret it, but after seeing what the iPhone 3GS has to offer (nothing really), I'm glad I stuck with Sprint and the Pre. I pay less, my service is rock solid, and the phone makes people drool.

I think its kind of ironic that they're pushing technology toward making touch screens feel more and more like physical buttons.

There is a fb web app for my Pre, but it blows. Just going to the actual website is really the best option for me.

On launch day there was already an update available from Palm which included the addition of an alarm clock.
