It might be possible that he had the New Every Two $100 credit.

".....Verizon has been beating up on the iPhone lately, calling Apple's iconic touchscreen device the 'iDon't' in a series of ads for the upcoming Android powered Motorola Droid..."

OMG....will someone at this site please pay attention to ads? This is not a vehicle of VZW. The "iDon't" ads are strictly products of Motorola and Google. Verizon Wireless isn't mentioned ONCE in those ads. At least with the Storm 2, they directly mention Verizon Wireless.

At last, I have some support for an argument I made almost four months ago. Back when PhoneArena posted an article about Sprint's new Unlimited calling plan, I replied saying that it still wouldn't matter for a company who's "best quarter" is defined by fewest net losses. Not to mention, the Unlimited calling plan doesn't work if you are in the Roaming areas ( I mentioned that as well ). But I still did not want to dis-credit the company and said that we should all wait til the 3rd quarter results come out. Well, here ya go .... In plain ole black and white .... or whatever color your screen is. Sad way to go for such a great company.

.... Now, if they could only improve their coverage.

Rechecked it....you're right. It's right there. My bad. Just wish Verizon had that feature in the TP2 as well.

Your review left out one very important feature; one that will make me send back my Touch Pro 2 (well within 30 days) to get it: The fact that it supports VCast w/Rhapsody. Gotta have my music .... and this will be the first WinMo device to support Rhapsody "subscription" service as well as downloaded music.

No problem here with my TP2. I get 3G everywhere I'm SUPPOSED to get it. Hell, I get it where my other phone ( enV Touch ) doesn't. There's bound to be some lemons in a batch of phones.

Really, PhoneArena, how surprising that you could not get a report in WITHOUT bashing Big Red. ".... it is another example of Verizon messing with things that really have no business being messed with......" Are you serious? I've had my phone since five days after they released it online. The first thing I noticed?.... the Power button is also the End Call button. How could you NOT have seen that? I know HTC is used to putting it at the top, but you are right about one thing; you embarrassed yourselves by not knowing how to turn it on. I'm looking at the phone now and.... well how about that.... there's a little "Power" icon on the End Call button ( you know, the little circle with the vertical line thru it ? ). And you guys are supposed to be tech savvy. Hell, you didn't even need a manual for THAT. And by the way, I'm GLAD they moved that button. I used to put my phone in Airplane mode to save battery at nite but keep my alarm on. Sometimes I would forget that and didn't know if the phone was on or not ( no flashing green light )....and I didn't want to have to power it on by mistake. I think this was a great idea by VZW.Overall, I give this phone aces. There are some things I would have changed, though.... Like making it capable of VCast with Rhapsody and making it capbale of editing photos. A camera flash would have helped too, but it's no biggie. I also downloaded Google Maps with no problems whatsoever...even with the older build of Opera. Two thumbs up Verizon. RIM and Samsung ( Storm 2 and Omnia 2 ) better come with their "A-game" if they want to compete with this monster.

And people complain about phones not having WiFi, because........??? This is horrible. I actually typed this entire post by the time it all loaded. Geez, I guess WiFi doesn't mean a hill of beans if the OS isn't up to snuff.

A force in the wireless industry? Isn't that what the Simply Everything plan was supposed to make them? As for those third party surveys everybody is questioning, they can be found in the June issue of Consumer Reports ( the third quarter CR issue is due out later ). I see this as one last-ditch effort for Sprint to save the Titanic. They admitted that iDen does them more harm than good. Then they decided to move the WiMax 4G network instead of LTE. Clearwire is the only other communication company in line with WiMax. VZW, AT&T, T-Mo, Japan, Western Europe?...They're all moving to LTE. There's gotta be something wrong with this picture Sprint.

As for Alltel losing money, it was their My Circle feature that did them in. Too much free calling and nothing to charge for. It may sound like the others are all about money but that's business. You don't stay in the game giving everything away for free. You simply won't last long. Ask Amp'd mobile ( and soon Sprint ). Alltel HAD to sell out. Verizon can afford to do that because they have other ways to charge people but at the same time save them money by reducing overages with putting people on the right plans ( hence the mandatory data plans on certain phones ). T-Mo has really affordable plans which benefit those living in or around major cities. AT&T's BB Bold, iPhone, and other device keep them afloat as well, not to mention, it's AT&T's 3G network that is actually the FASTEST in the market right now. Sprint is sinking .... FAST. And by the way, did anybody bother to pay attention to this report? The Unlimited Calling plan does NOT work in Sprint's roaming area. Hmmmm, let me see .... over 60% of Sprint's coverage is what?......... that's right.... ROAMING!!! All you fanboys crawled from outta nowhere like roaches when the lights go off, when Sprint announced their Simply Everything plan some time ago. They were supposed to be back in the game then, right??? Wrong!!! They still lost thousands of customers and millions of dollars, and you all STILL made excuses for why that happened. But stick around .... I want to see the third quarter reports when they are released some time in late October. We will see what this new idea will do for them.
