to each their own. as long as it doesnt feel like a samsung u340, im fine. my only complaint is the screen sometimes doesnt recognize commands. try handscent SMS, its notorious for not allowing t he Send button to not be pressed on the first few trys with keyboard out. same issue with games, if the keyboard is out, sometimes the screen will just stop responding and i have to close then open the keyboard for it to start working.. never such an issue on my Mytouch.
biggles, the OS is open source, the enhancements are exclusive, otherwise all the other android phones would have 2.0 by now instead of Q1 2010 at earliest.
that is true. when you have datablocks on your phone.. and you have to make sure you have ALL THE DATA BLOCKS because there are different ones, VZW WILL NOT charge you, and if they do accidentally charge you they will take it off your bill.
on the flip side, Clark Howard was going off on VZW again this past week. Apparently there is some truth to this article, as he was saying that some call centers are being trained to find ways to NOT put that block on the line and instead try to get the customer to get the data packages. Of course this is just Upselling, so not suprising. Apparently there is a large % that once they do datablocks they never take it off and try out the full phone, so VZW is trying to keep that from happening.
Hey, thats VZW. They arent the biggest healthiest company because they give everything away. If people were mad they would leave. come to Tmobile. Service is half the price, its all pretty much no contract now, upgrade when you want, and a lot less junk fees... but most people wont because they fear leaving the best carrier and VZW knows that. you want premium service, you pay premium pricing.
the slide keyboard you have must have been an original demo ship out. motorola fixed that in final production. mine has no such problem.
you complain about the plastic casing on the phone then say its a little heavy. how much heavier would it be with steel doors? lol. make up your mind.
you really need to wrap your mind around the new pricing structure at tmo. people dont buy the contract pricing very often anymore. most people are switching to the Even More Plus plan, or go on that at sign up. so the "200 with contract" doesnt really count for much. All the androids are priced the same. 399 full retail which means 20/month on the payment plan.
and NOONE BUYS Tmo on the old contract plans anymore. 99% of all new customers and 70% of all upgrading customers switch to the new no contract EMP plans. Why dont you report it the way it should be which is probably 399 no contract, which with tmo's 20 month payment option on the phone is $20.00 a month. so again you get a nice phone with unlimited everything for 99 a month (79.99 service + 20/month for the phone till u pay it off)
you cant beat that with a stick.
or u could pay 200 for the droid then 165 a month for the same unlimited everything (voice + txt + data + tether )
still sound like a bad deal?
other than you GETTING THE PRICING WRONG AGAIN,
ive played with this phone multiple times and i can tell you, its a piece o junk. lol. Get a mytouch or a cliQ instead.
the theoretical limit of LTE is 150-200, real world tests have it steady around 100mb/s. I havent heard anything about a gimped LTE, nor do i believe that to be true. VZW would not do a national rollout of such magnitude like they have plans to do, if they were going to gimp it. No, it will most likely be full speed and high premium priced for that. And I will buy me a nice 4g aircard as soon as its availible (if its not a 5g cap that is!)
verizon is hoping for a national "all at one time" roll out of 4g basically. tmo is doing the traditional slower rollout of 21mb/s but at their current prices is it worth paying tripple or more on a cell phone?
dood, if you do the math, its still way cheaper over all. even if you just compare it to the plans it just replaced. compare it to verizon/att and its an even bigger savings.
som, the coverage is on par with ATT.. so either both their coverages suck, or people are idiots on ATT cuz they are paying double for the same service that you get on Tmo for half :)

obviously you have never seen the full retail of a nokia N series. at one point they topped 1200. heck the new N900 is like $900 as well.
