I've always been happy with verizon. When i look for a phone service that i can reply on i look at decent phones but overall i want superior coverage areas. Which Verizon provides. After all it is a phone, and its main purpose is to make and recieve phone calls. I also have an ipod touch which i love, and carry with me everywhere. I use that when i want to play games or use applications. I use an HTC touch pro and use the wifi from it to connect my ipod touch to the internet when im out and about, and i coulnt be happier with the results. I have service everywhere and my download speeds are more then fast enough for downloading applications and music. Like i said i love my ipod touch and use it all day every day, but i will never switch to att for the iphone. Verizon has way better customer service and of course there coverage is top notch in most areas. The way i look at it is, if i get in a car accident in the middle of nowhere and noones around, i rather have a working cell phone that has a signal then a do it all gadget with a million applications, that wont help me when i need to make a call the most.
You say verizon needs a better selection on phones but if you look, verizon has more models then any other carrier. There is plenty to pick from. For someone to complain about verizon having a poor selection because they dont have the iphone is retarded. Wait for LTE to launch in the next few years. When verizon gets an LTE iphone then ATT will be in trouble. But when your talking about selection of phones you need to realize that your saying that but you only bring up the iphone for ATT like thats a huge selection to choose from.
adding unlimited text would only solve part of the problem. regardless of the 4k bill. the fact that the kid was failing all of her classes due to obviously not doing anything but texting in school would have had my head under the hammer still. sending that many text messages is crazy. i do nothing but text and only manage not even half that amount per month. we use to get a lot of upset mothers and fathers in the store before we offered unlimited text plan. back when the max was 5000 text per month and some teenagers would double that.
as a vzw employee i have realized that we are not in hard times with this company. Our business has not deminished one bit. we are actually seeing more customers in the stores then we have before. Some of this is due to other companies not allowing for as much overtime as well as the unemployment rate. We see the same amount of people if not more in the stores. The only difference is when the customers come to the stores. we are busier on days where we just to have few customers but weekends remain the same as always. Im just happy to work for a company during these hard times that offer such great job security.
WFG and test drive are 2 different things. the WFG will continue to be the same. you still have 30 days, you just dont get credited for usage or activation fees anymore. you still have 30 day return exchange policy. as for the ne2 credit. a lot of people used half of it or wouldnt make it until they were eligible to use it anyways. I dont see these changed affecting verizon wireless too much. 90% of upgrades i do either use only half there ne2 credit or dont make it 2 years until there eligible for it anyways.
the buyout wasnt just to gain new customers but to take over service areas that they wouldnt be able to without taking this route. As a happy verizon customer i have no doubt in my mind that many customers will be leaving altel/verizon, but overall they will not lose most of there customers so its a gain for them regardless of how many people leave altel/verizon. your taking a competitor out of the picture. Its a good move on verizons part considering altel is one of the last companies besides small local companies that the fcc will allow buyouts of. for the verizon hates.. stick with your sprint or att.
VZW net adds: 1.5million ATT net adds: 2.0M
VZW retail net adds: 1.5million ATT retail net adds: 1.7million
VZW total ARPU: $52.18 ATT total ARPU: $50.80
VZW retail postpaid churn 1.0% ATT retail postpaid churn 1.2%
VZW Expense/Customer: $29.12 ATT Expense/Customer: $33.81
VZW EBITDA margin: 44.2% ATT EBITDA margin: 33.5%
VZW total customers: 70.8million ATT total customers: 74.9million
verizon wireless added less post pay net adds then att but verizons profit margin was a lot higher then att's. this means att has more cheap customers that complain to much and they lose more money on people always wanting free stuff
