iCare Kid's mobile phone for GSM approved by FCC

It seems that there's a demand on the mobile phone market for devices, specially designed for children. The US #1 carrier Cingular and Verizon Wireless already offer their versions of kids' phone. Now, the FCC approves i-Care I3300 Kid's Mobile Phone, which is a tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900) phone in a Teddy bear design without a display, but with a LED for visual alerting. Like other phones of this type, it has no numeric keypad, only 4 speed-dial keys for numbers, entered by the parents. It also has a SOS button, which sends an alert SMS to some predefined numbers. Messages are also sent when there are some setup changes or the battery goes low. The latter is claimed to reach 90 minutes (an hour and a half) of talk time. There is no sign of the iCare Kid's phone being offered by any major US carrier, but it will be probably available in various colors – the FCC documents show it in Green, Blue, and Pink. It measures 3.8 x 2.5 x 1.1 inches.
