inPulse watch for BlackBerry is official and is available now for pre-orders

Last week, we reported on a BlackBery watch accessory that works through Bluetooth to give you notifications of emails and text messages. The inPulse, as this device is called, is not only official, but the company behind it is now taking pre-orders for the watch. The smartwatch is not made by RIM and is not a phone. Made by a company called Allerta, the inPulse works alongside your BlackBerry smartphone to notify you when you have an email or a text, or some other event occurs that requires your immediate attention. The alerts are made through the device's 1.3 inch OLED screen and things like the clock, alarms and timers can be set straight from your 'Berry. The battery life is about 4 days with a rechargeable cell. It is designed to work with all BlackBerry phones running an OS build of 4.3 or higher. While the company is not actually accepting money right now,. they are putting names on a waiting list in expectation of a February 2010 shipping date at a price of $149. So while there is now a watch to alert you to important notifications on your BlackBerry, what will notify you to the alert on your inPulse watch? For more info, check out the source link.

This is the ultimate geek device. First the pocket protector and now this. Like someone can't wait to check their email...in their pocket.

This is SO utterly gay. I kinda liked the idea of the LG watch-phone from a while back, but this just screams of useless redundancy.
