Almost 8 months after we noticed it for the first time, the i760 appears on the Samsung site. The images don’t hide the Verizon Wireless branding, confirming what we’ve knew for long from rumors and leaked product line sheets. Our lastest information pointed to a September release, so we may see the smartphone very soon.
The Samsung SCH-i760 is a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device with rather strange and unique form-factor. With it, reminds us of the HTC Vox and Libra, but they both doesn’t have touch-sensitive screen. It is a a candybar phone with numeric and navigation keys below the display but also with side-sliding full QWERTY keyboard. This should allow easier dialing of numbers, as otherwise the touch screen must be used. Being a CDMA, the i760 supports EV-DO (rev.0) but it also has WiFi to connect to local Wireless LAN networks. Other features include 1.3-megapixel camera, Stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot and 400MHz Samsung processor.
Thanks Andrew
