XDA EXEC (HTC Universal) Review
Published on: 17 February, 2006 by Daniel Hadji
Although the XDA EXEC is a very good PDA with some nice features and phone related functions, it is not too much different (in specification & performance) from similar PDA/Phone devices. In other words it would not be that beneficial to somebody who has the previous model and finds it perfect for their needs. However, for those who heavily use any text input related features, the EXEC is a fantastic device to get. It gives you an excellent keyboard for typing long documents with a laptop like layout, much improved software program features (e.g. improved pocket word, excel and outlook) and is of course much smaller than a laptop. I'd certainly recommend it to people on the move who need good connectivity options as well as the need to create, edit and process familiar Microsoft office documents.

Pros
- Excellent decent sized full QWERTY keyboard
- Better software features bringing it closer to window programs
- New Persistant Storage now eliminating loss of data due to loss of power
Cons
- Biggest/bulkiest of all the Windows mobile PDA's to date
- Screen could be bigger considering devices' size
- Incompatible with many 3rd party applications
PAppeal
- Christian Dior:
- Average
Size and weight doesn't make the PDA the best suited device for fashion conscious individuals.
- Average Joe:
- Very low
Not really necessary due to the size for this market. Has some nice features but the majority would not be touched.
- Corporate US:
- Very high
Definitely a real win for the corporate market due to its ample business related features. The only slight drawback I'd say would be the battery life.
- High-Tech junkie
- Very high
A dream device. From 3G to WiFi, to MP3 to Pocket Office features, plus the option to add many applications. It really does have everything a techno freak would want.
