Verizon's MiFi 2200 and Netbook are now for sale

Starting today, you can purchase the MiFi 2200 and HP Mini 1151NR Netbook from Verizon Wireless. We reviewed the MiFi 2200 earlier this month and were impressed by what it delivered. It allows you to link 5 devices to it via Wi-Fi, and the MiFi 2200 is then connected to Verizon's EVDO Rev A network. The five connected devices then have full Internet access. We like the fact that it is small enough to take anywhere, even in your pocket, but the battery will only provide up to 4 hours of power on a full charge. The WiFi 2200 can be purchased for $99.99 after $50 rebate with a 2-year Mobile Broadband contract, $169.99 after rebate on a 1-year contract, or $269.99 full retail.

Verizon MiFi 2200 Review

For people who are looking for something smaller and lighter than a Laptop PC, but don't want to use a 3" screen on a Smartphone, there is the new HP Mini 1151NR Netbook. It is mainly designed for the person that wants to be able to surf the web and view email on a large 10.1" display, and have some computing power with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB RAM, and 80GB Hard Disk Drive. The Netbook comes in at 2.4 pounds and runs on Windows XP (with SP3). The Netbook is capable of using Verizon's EVDO Rev A network, but GlobalAccess service is also available, with it using quad-band GPRS/EDGE/GSM and tri-band HSPA/UMTS. The HP Mini 1151NR Netbook can be purchased for $199.99 after $50 rebate with a 2-year Mobile Broadband contract, $299.99 after rebate with a 1-year contract, or $519.99 full retail.

Man... VZW is a Power house in every sense of the word..check these options out...

A. They have 199.99 Netbooks with built-in WiFi and Broadband access 10'' screen and 80Gb HDD.
B. They have 199.99 VZW Hub which is a Home phone with a 7'' touch screen base using VOiP w/ extra handset.
C. They have a MiFi connection to share the mobile broadband up to 120' from the mobile "hotspot" with up to 5 secure users
D. They Have a MOBILE Network Extender that gives you 5000 sq Ft of coverage ANYWHERE in the US
E. They have the Largest
F. The Have the BEST!!
G. And...They Even have a wireless HUB that you can buy to tie it all in together...Genius ladies and gentlemen, genius...

Does any other service providers have these? Not just one but all of them combined? NOPE! Because there too SLOW...(cough) Sprint...

Dude, does VZW's colon smell that good? You are WAAAAYYYYYY up their.... posterior. I understand being happy with your provider, and if you're an employee, being happy with your employer. You're taking it overboard, to a ridiculous level, it's a cell phone carrier with some extra stuff, not exactly a company that saves lives. I work for VZW myself, so I see from the inside their downfalls. Ignoring them and pretending they're the ideal company means absolutely nothing to the real world, and in the future sometime, I'm certain that AT&T will retake the #1 spot. VZW's customer base is generally business people, or others who have matured in life for awhile, obviously (for all the morons who like to take statements out of context) that's not all of VZW's base, but it's the majority. AT&T has the young crowd, because they're more focused on having cool phones, and quite frankly, AT&T has a much wider variety of phones, and it makes them more versatile. VZW focuses on the network, and almost solely on the network. The execs think that regardless of the performance of anything else, as long as the network is the most reliable, they'll never fall. Well, it's all good and fine to have the most reliable network (enter all the whining and moaning about how {insert generic wireless company of fanboy choice} is better in my area), but you will eventually have to evolve into something more. Sure, we're working on device variety right now, but only in sequels, and very few new releases. It's going to take more than an over-priced subsidy of a netbook to keep VZW on top, it's going to take more devices, and possibly some price drops if things keep going the way they're going.

We were the only ones with the mobile coverage vans out and patrolling when Katrina hit. If we didn't save lives then, we damn sure helped. I guarantee we'll be there for every disaster thereafter as well.
