Verizon’s LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 comes on 18 October? This article contains unofficial information.

One of our sources has just shared interesting details about the LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 that is to roll out through Verizon Wireless. As already know, the device will not look like the LG New Chocolate BL40 and will sport a 3-inch WQVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, 3.5mm jack, HTML browser and 1GB built-in memory.

The new information about it is the phone will come with FM radio and audio recognition through Vcast. It will be running an updated version of the enV Touch software and the source mentions the presence of a virtual drum pad and keyboard, that will probably allow customers to make their own audio renditions, which accentuates the multimedia orientation of the handset. Having already released the Samsung Rogue U960, this will be Verizon´s second Enhanced Multimedia cell phone, meaning you would need a proper data plan. The interesting thing about it is two battery covers will come right out of the box, in classic black and all-the-rage violet.

The good news is we won´t have to wait much longer until we can get our hands on the LG Chocolate Touch VX8575. The source claims the phone is hitting the shelves on 18 October, although fails to provide any details about the retail price.

Alot of people fail to recognize that the iphone was not the first touch screen cell phone ever. There were lots of PDAs that were touchscreen before the Iphone. Only thing that made the iphone a first was its user interface and was targeted towards the masses.

if this has no clamshell or qwerty slide out, shouldn't it be a thinner unit?

I would even argue that's not true. The LG Prada takes that award as well. It was the first feature phone targeted toward the masses with a simple UI.

To me this is still a pointless phone. If there's a virtual drum pad and keyboard, the screen should have been a bit bigger; maybe 3.2''? I think what they should have done is kept the BL40's style cues, only, shrink the screen to somewhere near 3.5'', which would have hopefully made the handset a bit wider. I figure if those changes were made, the so-called 'focus group' would have loved it...
