I know Sprints Femtocell unit is only capable of 2G data rates- which is ridiculous. I don't need a signal booster for Voice coverage in my area, but I don't get any EV in 1/2 my house and get stuck on their 1X service- which totally sucks when I'm trying to catch up on The Office on my Vcast.
Any info here?

If you are in your house and have broadband to use this thing why the hell are you watching The Office on Vcast? If they don't offer it on the networks website to watch for free then you can surely download it. Why limit yourself to a 2-3 inch screen?
I have learned that the initial VZW femto launch will not support EV-DO coverage, but that second-generation femto sites will support the faster data speeds.
For your info...to help people understand things before they start making false accusations. Sprint and Verizon use the same type of network. That is CDMA. Thats a digital network based off of the same technology the military used to use before the FCC allowed cell phone carriers to use the frequency for consumer use. So Verizon is no more better than Sprint is and vice versa.
The only finger pointing should be at the FCC. They are the only ones controlling your service.

cont'....
SO if you see Sprint come out with something, Verizon will follow suit. The same goes for Sprint. But Sprint has always been the risk takers. And the forerunners in the CDMA network with their devices.
Still there isn't much diffence in the two carriers, just maybe the customer base. But the adds say the same thing.
Vzw: "Most Reliable network"
Sprint: "Most Powerful network"
Please, if any of that were true on either side, the FCC would have both companies tied up in a serious case of monopolizing the airwaves.
