Verizon announces the LG enV 3, enV Touch and Glance

advertisment:
Verizon has just announced forthcoming availability of three LG handsets: the enV 3, enV Touch and Glance, just as expected. You will be able to purchase the enV 3 tomorrow for 129.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-rebate, while the enV Touch and the Glance will be put out for sale on June 5 for $149.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate and $49.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate respectively, both with a new two-year contract.

We´ve already provided detailed information on these phones, but here’s what they offer once again, just in case someone missed our previous reports. The enV3 is successor of the enV2, sporting the same form-factor, but still, it comes with a larger 2.6-inch main display, QWERTY keyboard, camera upgraded to 3 megapixels and visual voice mail capabilities. The enV Touch is replacement of the Voyager that features two 3-inch screens with the external being touch-sensitive. What you will also find is 3.2MP camera with autofocus and flash. The storage space can be expanded with a microSD card with capacity of up to 16 GB (also present on the enV3). The LG Glance, photos of which have been recently leaked, is more on the budget-oriented side of things. Still, LG has managed to make it not less seductive than a high-end make by adding a dainty looking back panel to the design. It features 2-inch QVGA display and 1.3MP camera.

Personally, I would take any phone that has been out for a year or so off my list of choices. More than likely, an updated version of the Dare is in the works if the Versa doesn't serve as the replacement. If you get it now, Verizon Wireless may stop supporting the phone before your two year contract is out, and you'll find it more difficult to get accessories like holders and replacement batteries and stuff. Just my thoughts.

Negative. VZW stocks replacement parts/accessories far longer than you know. I had two previous VZW phones I was going to donate, one was a VX4400 (my first LG phone), but I'd lost the battery cover. I called VZW and they sent it to me at no cost. This was just last summer.

I am so glad that they finally issued an official announcement and that they released the phones so close to the release of the Versa. I was about to buy the Versa two or three times over the past two months, but I hate the cover that goes with the detachable keyboard. Hearing the rumor about the enV Touch was the only thing that saved me from settling for that monstrocity. LOL. Does anyone know anything about whether phones typically sell out on release dates? Should I be at the store when it opens, or is it really not that serious?

I had the same problem as you. I was very close to buying the versa, but i really hated the detatchable keyborg cover. I have the second LG Chocolate right now so anythoing would be a step up from that. But when i heard there was going to be an enV Touch. I decided it would be usefull to wait untill june 5 to get it. If anyone already has the touch already, how is the touchscreen? Please reply.

I have the LG enV Touch! I just got it in the mail yesterday 5-29-2009. I was elegible for my upgrade, and I wanted this phone, but I knew the release date wasn't until June 5th. When I called customer service I asked if they had inventory on this phone and if it could be ordered. And of course the answer was YES! The phone is awesome! I really like the Music player. The UI is pretty fun! I had the LG Voyager before this, and the enV Touch seems like it's made out of more sturdier materials. The pricing is $409.99 retail and $219.99 - a $70 mail in rebate with a new 2 year contract which brings the price down to $149.99. I still need to play around with the phone a little more, but I must say this is an awesome phone!

LOL. I was thinking the same thing PJKFB. If they had the phone, I would have thought they would have put something out there that we didn't already know. Tell us about the settings or how easy it is to navigate the web or something. And by the way, when I've talked to two telesales people with Verizon, I was the one who told them the release date for the Env Touch because the phone is not available for them to sell as of this morning. In fact, they asked me to wait a few weeks for the phone to become available and I directed them to their website that says the phone will be available this Friday. Don't even bother calling Verizon now, you can not get the Env Touch early. And if you do, then it's a very special circumstance that allowed it.

It is possible...My friend got the EnV3 on Tuesday 5/26/09 three days before the release. It does happen, a customer care rep sees a phone listed under the phones in the warehouse and they don't think to check and see if they have been released yet or not. They figure they are on the list so they must be, and if your wondering...yes I do work for Verizon and have for 2 and 1/2 years.

You should try reading your own St Augustine quote before you assume that what you believe is truth therfore all others must be lies.

*Not EXACTLY free per se, but at no cost to me & my wallet. I'd tell you how, but it's way too long a story - LOL
