Verizon adds the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 to its business catalog

advertisment:
Verizon officially announced that it will be offering the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530, starting November 20 at a price of $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a two-year service agreement. The phone that was previously said to be called just the Curve 2 will appeal to people on a tighter budget, who are on the lookout for a quality business-oriented model. The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 sports a QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera, 3.5mm jack, Wi-Fi and GPS, along with support for 3G and Wi-Fi. Its processor will be clocked at 528MHz, while the flash memory will be 256MB. The smartphone looks really nice and it will also replace the well-known trackball with a trackpad. It will come in two color solutions - black and smoky violet (whatever this may mean). Is this the BlackBerry handset that you wanted, or you would rather go for the high-end Storm2?

Expect our hands-on with the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8530 soon!

I would welcome a trackpad instead of a trackball; my wife has the current curve and that lousy trackball is such a piece of shit!

Never owned a blackberry, but from what I've heard, the trackball is usually the part that fails the most often, so this looks like a welcome change!

The tour is a higher end phone, better keyboard, but this offers WiFi.

Anybody know if the new Bold will come to Verizon or when the Tour 2 is expected?
