Verizon adds 1.1 million net new subscribers, brings total to 87.7 million served

advertisment:
Verizon doesn't expect to report second quarter earnings until Monday. As a preview, Big Red has said that it added 1.1 million net new subscribers in the period. That compares to the 1.4 million net new subscribers that AT&T brought into the fold during the same three months. For Big Red, the total number of people served by the carrier has now risen to an industry leading 87.7 million customers. As we reported, AT&T has a total of 79.6 million subscribers which places them right behind Verizon.

Quite frankly, I figure the less kids taking up space on my carrier's network, the better experience I'll have, so I think ATT should drop about 10 million or so subscribers, I'll totally be cool with that. Oh, and how about those 10 million subscribers be strictly iPhone kids.....smiles all around =].....

I wish that would happen, they are seriously jamming up the network.

If 10 million people are jamming up your network, you're on the wrong network!

Mifi w/LTE FTW!!!

Fortunately, the majority of VZW's users are not kids (because we fortunately don't have the iPhone, hopefully we never will), and that could account for a portion of the added reliability of the network. However, that could also be weighed down by all business users as well.

Actually, over 80% of the Iphone users are over 21. And they don't jam up the network. Also, VZW LTE is FTL.

80% of all iPhone users are over 21 because you have to be 18 to have an account. Narrows the odds a little don't you think?

the iphone doesnt slow down atts network...its the network itself that is just not very well built.

hence the slowest of the four largest us carriers. and att thinks says it is the fastest.

a bit hypocritical isnt it????

Honestly, I don't have a problem with Verizon, I just prefer GSM. I have no problem with AT&T actually. I'm a happy customer.
