I dont think its about the $2.99, I think its about the principle behind it. If VZW were to continue to offer VVM for free it could create a marketing strategy against ATT. But then again I personally really just dont care about VVM.

I don't care about VVM; I care about the principle of charge behind it. ;)

I'd take it if it were free. But costing $3 per month! NO WAY! VVM is cool but not needed enough to pay money for it. VZW already charges for EVERYTHING!

In the spirit of #24's Las Vegas analogy, I'll see your "you are a loser" and raise you a, "I can't believe you pay for sex, you must be UGLY".

I hope this is something they think about including in the premium plan.

it should be part of premium I totally agree with that statement.

I don't think that is far fetched. It will have to be available for all premium capable phones but when it does I foresee it being included.

My Instinct Visual Voicemail is included in my Everything Plan. Why doesnt Vzn include it also? You can forward message or just send someone a voicemail message without their phone ringing.

Sorry for reposting this, but I thought I'd make some changes that occured today. I was pos 21, see if you can find the 2 changes!

I agree 100%
I'm the average consumer, living with the average family. I have a wife, and three kids!!
Prices for everything are soaring and while Verizon's service is the best there is, their prices certainly reflect it. I'm defiantly paying for my reliability, with some added surcharges along the way. I work in an average office in a moderate position. My salary is average. My life, in itself, is average. I'm the epitome of the "average consumer". My bills are high already, and while I'm having to pay $4.21 a gallon for gas, I don't think anyone in my situation, or a similar one is going to be forking over any MORE money to Verizon. I use their wireless, TV, Internet, and home phone services as well. The majority of my paycheck goes to them. It would be nice if they could let us have some nice features, without having to charge us every which way. I understand they're running a business, but I guarantee that they would be more acclaimed for having VVM if they didn't charge for it. This will be another feature that everyone will forget about, because no one can really afford the amenity.

i love all the whiners "why do we have to pay for it!" when you go to eat, do they give you free steaks when you sit down? if you go to outback once a week for a year, do you get free food for it? no! do you get an extra helping of potatoes or even free sauteed mushrooms? no! and i bet you dont expect it either..do you?
well guess what, thats how companys run.
and if you pay your frikkin bill on time for a while, you get into the VIP program which automatically gives u 25% off any accessory in the store, drops alot of the fees, and gets you extra discounts when upgrading..
oh sure, you dont even say thanks for that, but you whine and whine about a $2.99 optional charge on a voyager that you probably DONT EVEN HAVE. It has twice the uses of both ATT's and Sprints VVM, and it also has a non premium option for those that dont want the full capabilities, and its free. VZW has the best service, satisfaction, and loyalty for a reason. And yes, you have to pay for what you get, but what you get is better than the rest.

This is the DUMBEST comment ever placed on this board yet! Do you really think that we believe that we deserve free VVM just because we pay our bills on time!? DOESN'T ANYONE ON THIS BOARD BELIEVE THAT COMPETITION IS ABOUT PUTTING OUT A PRODUCT OR A SERVICE THAT IS SUPERIOR IN FUNCTION OR MARKET PRICE?! My god, if you think that all people are "winning" about is the fact that it costs $2.99, then you are truly simple minded. Verizon just boasted an increase in number of customers, but explicitly noted that it does not have the #1 slot in user population. While people like you idiotically think that it's okay to stay at this level, I believe that VZW has an opportunity to offer a better service out there with their VVM and overtake an eager market by pricing it cheaper or even free. The amount of people who would be willing to sign over to VZW for that free service, even at a minimum of $39.99/month plan, would still reap greater profits than to dissuade potential buyers by making this service cost $2.99/month. As you idiots can't see the bigger picture, I feel that it is my duty to inform you of such an obvious mistake in their pricing strategy.

they dont give you free steaks when you sit down but if two other restaraunts where already giving free steaks when you sit down then they sure would but not VZW

Wow, you obviously need to take some midol or something. While VZW does not have the most customers overall, they do BY FAR have the most post-pay customers. In other words those ones that are on contract that have a monthly bill that really bring in money like clock-work. Yea they have more of those than any other company. The only reason AT&T is #1 in customer base is the GoPhone. Cingular did a spectacular job in promoting it and that was a lot of Cingular's business. The fact that VZW is charging for this or not charging for this will make no difference in subscriber base. They could offer it for free but you can still get it at AT&T or Sprint for free but as with VZW it's only available on 1 phone. So there are a total of 3 providers and 3 phones that have VVM. I don't think that when someone is going for cell phone service this is a primary concern of anyone on who has better VVM.

Moving on to the people that bitch and bitch and bitch about having to pay extra for things and things are so expensive. Why don't you call you're cable company and tell them you want them to subsidize the price of your tv for you every 20 months. or your telephone company and tell them you want a free cordless phone for every room in your house every 20 months. It ain't gonna happen. Truth is in comparison, Cell Phone companies in general are very generous by subsidizing the price of their phones in exchange for 2 years of loyalty. So get over your whining and crying and bitching and shut up.

I think there is way too much put on which company is #1. AT&T is at the top, mainly because they are the only ones that decided; yes decided to sell the "great and powerful" i-phone. It is sad that people choose a carrier based on phone models and features, and not on the quality of the service and customer support. Now I know someone will blast this saying coverage "sucks" in this area or that. The truth is that EVERY carrier has gaps in their coverage somewhere. You can thank the FCC for that. Now my rant is done for the day. Take care friends.
