Can we move on?
OK - the people in the stores/on the phone do not really know much about a a new phone until it launches or a formal announcement has been. made. When I inquired about the xv69000 in the store in March they had never even heard of it - yet here we are on launch day for the xv6900.

The fact that employees are not familiar with the phone neither confirms or denies its existence.

Can we move on now?

listen guys i'm a Techy person and i love gadgets just as anyone else does truth is as much as i or we love them we want them to actualy work not just to look good.. that being said best phone i have ever used is the iphone from being so user friendly voyager is alright i wouldnt brag about it infact hardly as towards the prada like verizon will YES WILL have in may yes MAY will have the same operating system same layout as the voyager there will be nothing different at all other than a few small tiny specs. as towards the glyde it will be better than the voyager i asure you now back to the truth...a phone that works means that you have to have a network that works and the only network out there thats the best and will continue being the best and will always be the best is VERIZON WIRELESS and if you guys havnt heard verizon next year is looking into LTE which will be a revolutionary breakthrough into cell phone industry. So.. whats my point i'm trying to make service must work first in order for the phone to sell and yes i am a Verizon wireless Telesales Representative.

since you are a verizon representative, i would like to get your option on the xv69000. i am thinking about getting the xv69000 or the smt5800. i really like the xv69000, but i am not to crazy by touch screen. also, i don't know what the keyboard looks like. i have to visit the store to look at the phoe again. is the xv69000 user friendly? which phone is better the xv69000 or smt5800. or there is another pda phone you can recommend. i want to stay with a pda phone.

1st reason vzw is always late cause they believe better safe than sorry. nobody was given them credit when they bought out the voyager and like 8 other phs. the one thing bout vzw is they have the most exclusive ph geared only for vzw customers (until recently) no one else had anything near the env/chocolate when it came out. when i was they're i felt the same way bout them being late on releasing phs...but can you blame them. also they give out phs to customers b4 they're on employee's!....no really

I know first hand the vx 9700 is coming out. I played with the phone , which was provided by a vzw tech support agent . It is very touch freindly and thin . A very nice gadget, and by the way it is coming to verizon wireless very soon !

Q3 was the last report. Both the Dare and the Glyde (in June around the end of Q2) were delayed. Count on this summer for the next big push of phones with VZW.

ok... i JUST saw a commercial on TBS and it was an LG commercial... and in the end you can see 3 phones all with verizon wireless logos on it and the one on the left is the vx9700!! so verizon has already started promoting this phone... i cant get my hands on the commercial can someone PLEASE try to find it!

i think the commerical you saw was the one for iron man and if so only one of those phones is verizon but i could be wrong cause is a commerical that lg is doing

YES.... thats the one, i didnt get to see it close enough cuz i wasn't really paying attention but there seemed to be 3 handsets and i think all had verizon logos and they all also seemed to be some sort of touch screen phones and the one on the right looked to be the LG Dare (VX9700) i have been trying to find the commercial all day but cant seem to... can someone please get a hold on that video so we can confirm if verizon has quietly started to promote the phone?

no they have not. the 3 phones in the commercial are not all verizon. its an LG commercial. The 3 phones are the LG Voyager (VZW), the US Shine (AT&T) and the Glimmer (Alltel). These are LG's biggest phones right now in the states. The 9700 is not in there, but you should start seeing more thinga baout it closer to Q3. I know it sucks and everyone says this, but just be patient. It will get here. Just not as quickly as we first thought.

I must say i might just have to buy this one. I was going to get a bb only because the prada phone was gsm and needed a sim card and i could'nt get it flashed to verizon. But also like #3 said....... It might be kind of late, they should have made the prada avail. now they make this?

No one talks about Wifi
A big chunk of people don't use phones for work related uses, and WIFI is a great tool especially as it is growing in each area. Some people just can't throw $30 bucks away to check their personal emails and movie times.

Wifi is the big thing on this. DrF says insider will be looking into this and posting it on www.lgdare.blogspot.com soon.

I will be very surprised if any non-smartphone, including the Dare has WiFi. Including WiFi would
actually limit Verizon's ability to continue to generate revenue. EVDO and the subscription
services they provide are part of Verizon's bread and butter. Unless WiMax (which suffered a
set-back with cable companies last week) becomes a real player, don't expect WiFi in most Verizon
handsets any time soon.
