Why is everyone saying this phone is going to come out when its not? Who even came up with the "Dare" its not Verizon that is calling it the "Dare". And if this phone is coming out why is it that only phonearena has a pic and no one else? Why dont you people who think its going to come out go into a Verizon store and talk to a manager, just because the FCC approves it doesnt mean that Verizon is going to approve it, they have their own test that they run on phones before they get approved.

people who work for verizon (not people who work in the stores) or deal with them have already stated it's coming out for verizon and have been credible in the past. you should know what your talking about before you start talking, most verizon managers have no idea about the new phones that come out, if you talk to them they tell you they probably know a month's in advance when a new phone is coming out people who visit this website frequently know more about upcoming phones then verizon employees who work in the store

So what do you have to say now that Verizon Wireless has released the "Dare"?

It really amazes me how many people think that they know everything......

The Voyager before it came out no one knew about it, but here it is, even if you walk in to a Verizon store the Manger surly doesn't know it's coming out till there is an actual launch date. I good friends with an owner of 11 indirect stores they go to mgts at least 1 time every 3 months and learn about new phones that are coming out, and even then there not 100 % sure until the launch date, that's because they are always's testing the phones, even when they are launched there are still bugs, that because they test in cretin markets. There's a 80%certinty that this phone will be out July 4th, I love the voyager got it the day it came out and had to get a 2nd one. Since then I've had no issues with it at all, I'm just board with it.
Hope LG VX9700 comes out soon

I've been with Verizon for a while now and it's great so far but yeah as everyone has said over and over the phones aren't great. Verizon had a great oppurtunity and they turned it down. Apple first went to Verizon with the IPhone, but verizon made a mistake and turned them down. With LG coming out with a lot of IPhone like phones they are getting closer and closer. With every mistake and flaw they are improving upcoming phones. And I hope this phone will be the one.

Verizon made a brilliant move and clearly demonstrated its confidence in its network superiority by turning down the iPhone and all of the demands Apple made with the offer. The iPhone is junk - ask the countless people who have had their iPhones catch fire in a bag or a purse because the battery is way too hot. Besides, to be honest, the iPhone does not really do anything that Verizon's existing Windows Mobile PDS don't already do. Too many people drank the Kool Aid

Additionally, LG demonstrates the best call quality of any phone manufacturer over and over, and isn't that really what a cell phone should have going for it first and foremost?

Verizon needs to come up with a different plans, Im paying 39.99 for 450 min, and 20.00 for unlimited text, and NO internet, and ATT starts 39.99 for 450 min and 20 for unlimited data, both the same price, might as well pay 59.99 and able to go on the internet.

Go right ahead and get all the "goodies" with AT&T....but don't complain when the network isn't reliable!

I checked out the LG Vu this weekend. If the Dare is anything like the Vu (as far as the touch screen and performance) I will be a very happy camper. I liked it a ton better than either the Glyde or Voyager.

Will the vx9700 have a full QWERTY keyboard on its touch screen? Or will verizon customers have to deal with more T9 operated texting? I know the Prada still uses T9 but the LG Vu does not.

I just want all this hype to be over. No doubt verizon is going to screw me like they did with the voyager and charge 400 bucks for an UPGRADE. I think I'm getting the glyde, this phone is no doubt going to be horrendously expensive. I also agree that Verizon lags in releasing their "new" phones. I love verizon but they need to step up their game. They make themselves look bad.

You screwed yourself. You shelled out 400.00 Verizon didn't make you do ANYTHING. You're desire to be one of the first on the street with a new device is what prompted you to do something that stupid.

And now, you have the gall to blame them?! Puh-lease!!

It's like buying a new car. You'll get a better deal on the same model when it goes on the year end close-out. If you want to be the first on the block with one...well, you'll probably pay a premium to have it.

I've had VZ service for 8 years and yeah, the phone models do lag a bit. But they last. All my friends with their AT&T or T-mobile "Supposedly cutting-edge phones" are always having issues. Yeah, EVEN the Iphone. My friend was one of the 1st to buy it...a die-hard Cingular fan..., and he's sold it...and came to Verizon. Verizon tests the heck out of their products, which is why it takes longer to get them on the market.

So in the end, you've really made yourself look bad. Don't be stupid, stop blaming others for your misfortuntes, and man-up. If you're going to spend 400 on a phone, fine....just don't go pissing and moaning about it when it's outdated.

Sooner or later...ALL THINGS become outdated.

1. No Idea
2. Hasn't been released. I'm thinking $500 before, $300 after.
3. It has Multi-Tap, t9, and QWERTY - All on screen as there are no keys on the phone.
