We appreciate the fact that every reader values different characteristics in a phone and not all categories are equally important to him. That’s why we suggest you rate the devices yourselves and decide which one suits you better! As always, we try to be as objective as possible in our reviews, but we give you our personal opinion and if it doesn’t coincide with yours, it’s probably due to the difference in the taste and needs.

iPhone 3G is equipped with a wonderful touch display, music player and web browser, which makes it a very good solution for the music maniacs and the individuals dependent on the Web. Compared to its competitors, it is less user-friendly, regarding the text input and it falls way behind when talking about pictures. The still existing software issues are somewhat disturbing, although being constantly fixed.

The small display and the weak multimedia features of HTC Touch Diamond are disappointing. However, if you are looking for a beautiful, user-friendly Windows Mobile phone, this is the best solution on the market.

Samsung OMNIA is very well-balanced in every aspect, and its strengths are the camera and the ability to play DivX/XviD video. The only irritating element is the partially personalized interface, which is not as good as seen in the rival devices.

Here are the final scores:

Excelent review!! I already bought my Omnia, it will arrive next week. I would be a little upset if it goes worst than the others, because I bought it only because it was the best =D

Thanks for the review!

The problem with 3G is you have to live in an area with coverage... GSM and 3G coverage are not the same. I won't have 3G where I live for some time, so 3G is not relevant where I live...

What's the diamond pixel density? lol

I'll tell you, it's a hell of alot better than the iPhone.

lookup the us 3g version of the touch diamond has an extended battery faster interface and easy access free push mail through active sync and its a hell of a lot nicer....Oh i forgot one thing the reason the screen is smaller is because it has buttons on the bottom!!!

You said the iPhones camera and video functionality was really poor yet you still gave it a 2..I hardly see that as fair. I have no issue with the iphone, just the ratings seem a little wacked for what it is.

The average score is screwed up. If it wasn't for the camera and GPS, the iPhone would be on top. You should omit the outliers for phones. If 2 features on it are bad, but it excels in almost everything else it should have the lower score? Grading on this is crap. You seem to forget that the iPhone's video QUALITY blows all of these away, Sure the camera isn't the best, but look at the pictures you took. The iPhone actually took the best pictures. For messaging, are you forgetting that the keyboard for the iPhone is superior? The other phones don't have the intelligent smart keyboard that learns from you. The grading system on this is crap. And don't think I'm writing this because I'm an Apple fanboy. I'm writing this because the way you grade everything isn't right.

Wow so have you gone out and tried all three phones and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the iPhone is God by comparison?

Also if a car gets bad gas mileage and fails horribly in crash ratings should still be the iconic wonder that it is when it is a death trap on wheels?

No, I'm just saying that the scoring for this is crap. Is GPS and Camera quality equal to something like the phone's interface or design or call quality? No. Sure, the iPhone's camera is shit but that doesn't mean it deserves a much lower score. The iPhone fails in a lot of areas, but so do the other phones.

Diamond's keypad HAS both predictive and smart correction (altho slightly poorer than iphone, tho less needed). The video is incredible with the pixel density, and frame rates are out of this world. Camera is far better than average and the image handling is awesome with finger gestures (clockwise spiral zooms et al).

AND Diamond can be rotated with the aid of Gsen program, which allows for g-sensor to rotate every Windows Mobile screen. Thus SMS composing can be done in landscape mode!

I couldn't agree more.iPhone's just a piece of S**t iPod touch with a built-in phone.Who branded it as the media phones god??Because whoever did it deserves a place in the best lunatic asylum. Also, what's that s**t about diamond being glitchy???I have it for like three months and I don't have a single complaint. As for the "small" screen, can anyone imagine diamond with a large screen????Nope...I don't think so...Omnia also kicks ass and it's the only cell phone(in my opinion)that can mean trouble for diamond.

Nevermind that as of today there are over 8000 groovy applications available for the iphone to do all sorts of things including games. What kind of games are available for these phone? I don't think these phones stand a chance - lets rediscuss this in a year and see where they all stand.

Newer Omnia Roms than used in this review is available, giving back the tactile/vibrating feedback for all modes and improvement in navigation and camera perfomance.

I live in the US and i just purchased my Omnia with T-Mobile coverage and the 3G seriously makes a difference in the phone. I have grown to love this phone but my only gripe is the lack of downloadable games...
