This article contains unofficial information. The Acer Liquid A1 may get an update to Android 2.0

advertisment:
The Liquid A1, Acer´s first Android handset rolled out running version 1.6 of the famous operating system, along with a few minor personalizations. According to a French blog, owners of the handset may get a free update to Android 2.0 as soon as March this year. As we have already seen with the Motorola DROID, the new edition brings along several really enjoyable extra features like synchronization to multiple accounts, plus version 2.0 (at least in theory) allows for fully-fledged multitouch within certain applications that come integrated into the OS. However, it´s still unclear whether or not the function will be available on the updated Acer Liquid A1.

As a whole, the possible software update is great news for owners of the powerful smartphone, but we just have to point out it´s quite likely that version 2.1 is released before March 2010 (supposedly, the OS edition the HTC Nexus One runs on), meaning people with the Liquid A1 in their pockets might end up getting an already obsolete piece of software.

Obsolete? It's dumb remarks like that that make me NOT want to come back to this site. As if 2.1 was a HUGE upgrade over 2.0. Windows ME/2000 is OBSOLETE. Android 2.0 might be a bit behind but certainly not obsolete.

And it's NOT the HTC Nexus One, it's the GOOGLE Nexus One. Who do you have writing articles? Space monkeys?

Sam, I really think that you are reaching with taking offense to the HTC Nexus One remark. HTC is manufacturing it, even though it is being branded as a Google phone.

Who do you have writing your comments? Fat kids with little arms at a buffet?, because you sound iritated.
