Sprint's unlimited plan for $89.99 ?

Remember the 'Simply Everything' for $99.99? Well, for $10 less you can get exactly the same but the Mobile Internet. If you don't really need those data access, the option for unlimited talk, messages and direct connect is still present. However, if you want to stay at $89 and still have unlimited data, the Everything 900 is still available, limiting nothing but the talk, to 900 anytime minutes.

Ya its coo for customers
but its not good for reps cuz we dont get paid on those add-ons anymore when people pick those plans so we lose out on atleast 30 bucks extra so its really coo for customers, but to sprint i say "get your hands out my pocket"

It's always about the customer....maybe if Sprint would have concentrated on that more a while ago, they wouldn't be in the situation they're in.

more customers does not = more profit. When you are already bleeding out of every orafice, dropping your price below a point that makes sence will only make you bleed more. if you give away 100 farms or 1000 farms, it doesnt matter to profit since you make no money on any of those farms!

its just a last ditch effort by sprint to try to stem off some of the losses. even with this, they still project over a million less customers per quarter. how much longer will sprint be active? sure take the cheap plans and find out!

AT LEAST SOMEONE KNOWS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT...SURE I GUESS THE CUSTOMER IS MOST IMPORTANT BUT IN THE LONG RUN THEY ARE SCREWING THEY'RE CUSTOMERS OVER BECAUSE OF THEM HAVING THE LOWEST PRICE ON A LOT OF THINGS...PROFIT WILL KEEP GOING DOWNHILL FOR THEM, WHICH WILL SADLY END IN THEM GOING BANKRUPT OR BEING BOUGHT OUT, EITHER WAY WHEN THAT TIME COMES IT WILL BE A HUGE DISSERVICE TO EVERY SINGLE SPRINT CUSTOMER IN THE WORLD. MARK MY WORDS....I GIVE IT LESS THAN 7 YEARS.

I think this is going to be great for Sprint to help rebuild some revenue. The majority of the people who sign up for these type of "flat-rate unlimited" plans will never fully utilize them. SPrint actually would make more money off of those folks. Lets be honest here- the "majority" of cell phone users will never use more than 600 minutes a month

sprint needs to end
I have a sprint phone... I can't wait untill I can get out of the contract. They have horrible service and dropped calls at least 10 times a day. And I live in a place with plenty of towers.

if there are plenty of towers for sprint, then you'd have perfect service, and it just means you have a shitty phone, dont write something so stupid. You can not live near plenty of towers and have no service unless its a phone issue.

like all cell phone providers, sprint is always adding new towers, and the newer phones are linked to the newer towers. You need to go to a store and have your phone updated so that it goes off of the newer towers.

Verizon Already Does It
Verizon is already offering a "all you can eat" plan so I think sprint had to offer the same. Only difference is, sprint is about $40 more per month for all you can eat voice and data. My biggest concern is, if a large amount of people sign up for this plan and/or come over to sprint, they will bog down the exsisting network and we will see even more dropped calls and unreliable data (unless sprint can keep up with it all). Customer service does suck but service it self has not been to bad for me. My contract was up and I was going to cancel but a few new phones and a better plan that offers more for the same money kept me. I sure do hope I dont regret it later but, only time will tell...

See the big picture
A couple of people have hit the point on the head and some are woefully "out to lunch" on the big picture. Firstly, Sprint has on more than one quarter, lost more subscribers than they have activated! Wether it's 100 lines or 1,000,000 lines, when you turn off more than you turn on, that's an issue! Secondly, if you take away Nextel, Sprint has NEVER posted a profit!!! I don't know how they have lasted this long. Sprint's biggest blunder is their credit policies. You cannot give anyone with some change in their pockets a phone! Their screening of potential customers is horrible, period! Over 10 years ago, the cost per line to the carrier just to turn on a line was $240 per line activated!!! Nextel was one of the most picky carriers with respect to deposits, and granting access to new customers and it resulted in the ONLY carrier to that point (like year 2000 time frame) to post a profit!!! All the carriers are stupid in how they devoloped the network. They are now all comming around and standardizing the network (GSM) as the rest of the world did years ago. If the network is standardized and all carriers equally build it up, then all would benefit. I could go on, but that too much typing! Just a few thoughts for you all!

if you think that most customers will never use more than 600 minutes then you really need to just pack up and go home, the unlimited plans are a great idea for the specific reason that it stirs things up and makes it better for the high end user, which with the exception of older folks and children is almost every one. i will take back what i said about you packing up maybe just stop selling sprint and start carrying a provider people want.

The even bigger picture
29.5 billion - THAT was the total in American dollars that Sprint lost last quarter. Package that with the fact that they lost over 670,000 customers and plan to close over 500 locations, then the future doesn't seem to bright. Over 70% of Sprint's network is an extended service area. Before all this talk about "unlimited" data and voice plans, Sprint had the highest "per megabyte" charges of the top three carriers in the U.S. (Verizon was 1.99 per MB, AT&T about $10, and Sprint... a whopping $30). Verizon didn't start the whole "unlimited" plan thing...SPRINT DID (in response to comment #11). Verizon was just the first one to actually release it. And how's this for stupidity ... why the hell would Sprint release a plan like that in certain markets only? To test it and see how it would go? Are you kidding me? If you're gonna offer an 'all you can eat' buffet, don't just feed SOME of the country. I'm sure EVERYBODY wants a taste. Verizon and AT&T weren't stupid and released their unlimited plans Nationwide. Even Sprint's dedication to Wimax in the future won't help ... especially since Verizon is committed to the faster LTE technology... Not to mention that Verizon already has a "Simply Everything" plan of their own ( though they don't call it that). It's just more expensive than Sprint's service but Verizon is the only carrier that offers unllimited International email and data in one of their "all you can eat" plans (the unlimited voice part of those plans are domestic only). Bad customer service, roaming on most of the network, and the whole Nextel / iDen thing has been the icebergs for Sprint's Titanic.

let me guess most of you are sales people for other companies who have been programmed to see only negatives in your compition. its ok. but give credit where credit is due...sprint- fastest internet speeds in the us...that is a fact...sprint- lowest mrc for unlimited plan....that is fact...yes we are not all good right now but come on give us a break....we just got a new ceo and things will turn around.

To Frustrated
I would like to give credit where credit is due ... but Sprint DOESN'T deserve that credit. Believe me when I tell ya, I actually liked Sprint for a while. But that was then, this is now. Even YOU admitted they are not good right NOW. NOW is all that matters, and right NOW, Sprint has major issues. I would give them the benefit of the doubt but it seems that these issues are the company's death knell. Fastest speeds in the U.S.? Are you for real? How can you make that claim when Sprint's network is 70% extended from someone else? For years their data services has tried to keep up and now even their committment to Wimax won't save them. As a matter of fact, they JUST made their most powerful PDA (the Mogul) Rev. A capable. What took them so long? I may have Verizon service now but believe it or not, I actually DO like Sprint. They were the first company I ever got a cell phone from. I am just majorly disappointed with them right now. Let's just hope they right their ship in time.... new CEO or NOT.
