Update: According to a credible tip we just received, the retail level training begins tomorrow.

Wondering how far the mighty Palm Pre is? Here’s a note suggesting that the waiting may be almost over. preThinking informs that Sprint has answered on whether its employees have already began taking classes on the Pre. The purpose of the training, of course, is to make employees capable of serving customers better, regarding Palm’s upcoming smarty. It seems like the lessons have begun, meaning that Sprint has moved a step closer to the Pre’s actual launch. Here’s what the source gives as Sprint’s answer:

"I would like to inform that Sprint is in the process of providing the training for the new Palm Pre. Once it's launched, Sprint will be ready to serve their valued customers regarding the Palm Pre."

I think that sprint is moving in the right direction with training before the launch lol....I also think that they have made alot of changes with customer service and though they are not #1 or 2 in customers they have made there way past att and pretty much tied with vzw in mostly everything else for the #1 spot.

they have no tied Verizon in anything to be frank.

They lose 1.6 million on an average every quarter, their customer service is fast to answer a call but they are terrible for resolution to issues, their phone pricing is insane and they have terrible sAles reps.

Godfather, you have no idea what your talking about, your obviously just some vzw fanboy, and if you had half a mind you would understand that the customer service is more than adequate. Also their phone prices may be slightly higher, but there plans can save you hundreds of dollars a year.

I think that verizon is no better with pricing and they charge you an arm and a leg for plans. They are very reliable but they are quick to kick you to the curb if you have problems paying. I like vzw but they are not #1 across the board only in customers and having service in alot of areas. To be honest not that much more than sprint (oh sprint has roaming agreements with vzw so that means where you get service sprint gets it to). They have lost alot of customers in the past because they made a mistake of taking on Nextel which gives sprint a bad name. One more thing vzw is owned by vodofone Sprint is owned by ummm oh yeah sprint they are there own entity.

The HTC Touch Diamond will be available via Verizon Wireless' business sales channels and online starting Friday, April 10 for $300 after rebate with new agreement.
Sprint had this sh*t for 6mo+ and its 199.99 with sprint.. how is sprint phone pricing insane?

How does a company's annoncement on preparations for a launch generates these kind of negative comments? ...BTW "Godfather"...Sprint's tie with VZW was a JD Power Survey! and you'll still gonna reject that ?... Well that says a lot.

The Godson has no idea what he is talking about. He is not even a Sprint customer but yet comments on the current customer service? I AM a Sprint customer and they sucked in the past. But I must say, they have gotten alot better. If I do have a complaint they ask me if it has been resolved and if i say no, they do not stop until I am satisfied. I had a charge of ten dollars on a bill that I disputed, and after they removed the charge they asked if i am satisfied. I told them I wanted a reimbursement for my time and they credited seventy dollars on my account just like that. They have been jumping thru hoops for me lately and why would I give up paying $100 for everything and go to verizon and pay $150 just to have a slimmed down version of the same phone with less memory. I have nothing against Verizon, but they are not a better offer than Sprint. I have a friend with Verizon and when we travel, we both get EVDO most of the time where my other friend with AT&T often only has Edge.

i worked for verizon for 4 years andswitched over to sprint due to their horrible customer service. i was tired of dealing with the errors that verizon would make... when a customer came in to get it fixed and it was a legit complain... verizon's stand on the subject would be "oh well if you do not like it leave" with sprint they will correct their errors

the service is the same... i travel all over the country ( and into northern michigan ) and the service mirrors each other

and ps... who cares

Agreed

Although I still work for VZW, I have Sprint as my personal carrier and I cannot tell one bit of difference in service with my work issued BB Storm and Moto V750 Adventure and my personal Sprint HTC Touch Pro and Moto V950 Renegade. VZW and Sprint service are both great, PERIOD. I can say however that the Sprint Nextel Direct Connect/QChat is a lot faster than VZW's PTT and there's way more people on Sprint Nextel PTT.

As far as customer service issues, I dont work in the retail side of VZW but I can tell you my BB Storm loses data provisioning once every couple of months and I have get IT on it, sometimes it takes days before my data service is restored.
