Move over HTC HD Touch, you’re not the lone last generation Windows Mobile handset that can run Android 2.1. The new player this time around to come out of the woods flaunting the Android platform is none other than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Sure we’re all waiting until Sony Ericsson releases their high profiled Xperia X10, but now there’s video showing proof that the Xperia X1 can accomplish the same thing we’ve seen on the HTC Touch HD. From the looks of it, navigating through the operating system can be a bit tedious – especially with the resistive touchscreen requiring a good push to recognize a press. It may not be super smooth flowing right now, but we’re sure after some tweaking, it should provide some level of usability. As you can see from the video, there are still some issues with it – such the inverted position of the display. So far this is the closest thing to Android on a Sony Ericsson smartphone available right now, but we’re sure that people are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Xperia X10 already.
