The power of the sun can do wonders to an ailing mobile phone that’s stretching out its last breath of fresh power. Although most handsets require you to plug it to a charger to get back some juice, one accessory for the LG Pop GD510 makes charging on the go a bit more flexible. Starting today, the solar panel for the GD510 is being made available for purchase that’ll add some bars to your handset as it basks in the glory of the sun. The solar panel back cover will allow you about three minutes of talk time by just charging it for 11 minutes in the sun. Although it’ll need to soak in the sun for some time to get a continuous amount of power flowing, it’s still very green friendly – which is what the handset is all about It’s not yet being sold here in the US, but certain German retailers are selling it for 34.90 Euros (roughly $49) – that’s not too shabby when you consider the overall benefits of solar power.
