why is it when something new comes out everyone has to bash it!!! that phone still better than the other crap that is out there. most of the phones out there have a 2mp camera, even the newer phones. unless its a smartphone! this phone looks better than all those before it.
Hello enV3! I've had the enV phone in the past and I'm looking forward to this new version, love the size, is shorter and thin compared to most phones and the new QWERTY design is nice. I like the fact that you have your favorites and text shortcut on the keyboard.
This is a good looking phone! The dark platinum blue color is nice, and the front display it's bigger which is a nice improvement. The enV2 outer screen was little small for me. I don't think this phone needed to be completed redesigned or changed, but just improve some of the features like the camera and video resolution, which is what they did.
I don't get what everyone's so up in arms about. If you want the "next generation" of enV-related phones, you have the Voyager, Versa, Dare, etc. (not to mentiion the Omnia, Storm, and other non-VZW phones like the iPhone). But if all you're after is a decent phone with a qwerty keyboard and good camera, the enV3 looks pretty good. The enV2 is one of our best-selling phones, and it looks like LG listened to what customers didn't like about the enV2 and made improvements.
And customers AREN'T saying things like "it's not the Voyager." They wanted a nicer camera, flash, bigger external screen, and no silly chrome trim that flakes off. THAT'S what this phone delivers.
So I had the env2, got it for Christmas 08, and I loved it. I got used to it real quick and it was easy to use and text, and the alarm clock woke me up in the morning. I had it for a good 2 months and then I started having problems with it. I never dropped it, or hit it, or damaged it in any way. First the inside screen broke when I was in the middle of a text message, took it to verizon, they replaced it with a new env2, then the same thing happened except to the outside screen, took it to verizon, they replaced it, then it started shutting off, turning on, shutting off, and turning on again, and the alarm clock stopped working, took it to verizon, and after waiting there for 3 hours, they fixed it. Now, last night, it started shutting off for no reason (the battery was fully charged) and I couldn't do anything with it. I take it to verizon today, complained about how this is the 4th time in 3 months that I had to come and get a new phone because of their faulty wiring. They gave me the env3 for free. So far, no complaints at all. The env2 didn't have left and right directional buttons on the front, this one does. Better pictures and videos, and a flash. the keyboard keys are bigger and easier to text with. It's thinner and fits into my pocket much easier. New Display themes, pictures, ringtones, and games, that come with it. Also, you can control almost anything from the external screen, which is much better than the env2 where you could only send a message, check recent calls, and go to your contact list. Now you can access pictures, see your sent messages, and more from the external screen. Plus, both screens are bigger. Easier to see, type, and I haven't had one problem with it yet. Oh, and I'm not the only one who had loads of problems with their env2. Tons of people in my school have it, and all theirs they've had to replace more than once. It had so many problems I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but this new one, so much better, and I'm glad they made it.
Is it true that you cannot save ringtones to this phone? I NEVER pay for mine. I make them myslef on phonezoo.com for me and my friends. This is the only thing that is holding me back from buygin this phone!!! lol...
I genuinely think I'm getting this just because I know it will be reliable. Sure, its redundant, but it's all I need.
I tried getting fancy with phones and ended up getting screwed. (ehhh effing glyde..)
And I am loyal to my first generation enV. I keep going back to it, it is my rock.
Besides. Everyone is just pissy that it's the same ol' thing again. Its not acutally a faulty phone, thus far.
